Kenwyne Jones to make a possible return to championship leaders Southampton on loan for the rest of the season! He needs playing time and they need a striker! Fairly reliable source posted on your rumours on sky web site.

That is not remotely reliable.

no need to get silly is there boys,we all post rumours we have read.

Because you clog up the board with threads like this. Rule no1) Don't post bullshít rumours some lowlife who has nothing to do on his Sunday afternoon has blogged up on a rumours site. Rule no2) If you are a moron who insists on doing so, do it on the rumours/transfer thread, not start a thread on it.

A username like that, and a rumour of complete ****e, and you don't expect some criticism? Are you brave or stupid?

just posting what i read.

People post rumours/start threads for rumours that come from sources with at least some credibility. You have posted a rumour from a source which could have been written by anyone in the world and has no credibility.

Plus as Steve Grant says, Kenwyne Jones went on strike to force a move away from Saints, would he really be welcomed back?

Football fans are an extremely fickle lot. Score a couple of goals and he'd be welcomed just fine, as bad as his going on strike business was. Whack the goals in and most people would forget, if not forgive.

Not that it'll ever happen of course; though he's be a damn good signing for anyone in this division.

An unlikely sounding rumour on the face of it, but I really rated him as a player when we had him back in the day. I must admit however he's never gone quite as far in the Premier League as I felt he perhaps could/should have done given his all natural attributes.

A cursory glance this thread is proof enough of just how extremely unpopular a return here would be amongst the fanbase, and recalling the manner of his leaving I can fully understand that reaction. But could a big brute of a Premier League striker that Kenwyne Jones still is do a (short term) job for us at this level ?

Kenwyne Jones and Rickie Lambert together could rip this division a new one if you ask me.

I wouldn't take Jones back here - he'd not be welcomed. However, so typical of the boring morons on here to slate the OP in the same way as if he'd started the rumour rather than just convey the message. I'll count this thread along with the many others that have made me decide not to renew my full membership.

so you lot think its your right to critisize me as a poster just for posting a rumour, arrogant, moronic are words that spring to mind.

I would agree that you have been a little arrogant and moronic in starting such a baseless thread, but if you think to yourself "do I think this is credible?" before repeating such tosh you should be able to avoid similar faux pas in the future.

Hope this helps, and wishing you all the best for the future.

I'm not entirely convinced about this 'strike' business anyway. IIRC this came from the OS at a time when the propaganda machine was in full swing. At any rate he won't come, if he did come may not be what we'd need, and wage might be a serious issue.
