Jesus Gamez... Apparently we're looking at this guy. He's Malaga's RB (yes, Quarter Finalists in the CL Malage). I would usually treat this with a pinch of salt, but it is from the Mirror and I presume Alan Nixon who has a good track record with us.

Personally, I can't see we need another RB, unless as back up.

Micheal Maccinenne. Can player centre half or central midfield, would be a decent addition to the squad IMO.

The guy who used to be at Wolves and ended up at Hamburg?

If I remember correctly he was struggling to get into the team out there. Did used to look a good prospect though.

Looking at the sides going (possibly) down. I would say Arouna Kone CDAJFU.

Thats him. I always thought he looked a good player, he's played about 40 games for them. Wouldn't be a first team player for us but decent option for cover at CM and CB.

From the sides going down, Callum MCManaman looks decent.

Don't see why a player who is first choice at a very big club like Hamburg would want to join us to be a squad player

He isn't first choice, he's played about 40 games in two years, squad player for them too.

I thought he was a regular this season before picking up a bad injury a couple of months ago?

I'd still like to see an ambitious bid for Essien. You know, proper quality and experience, rather than the rubbish people usually settle for to get experience.

His wages would be enormous. Too much for us surely? I'd be a it concerned if we started buying players like him as you know they would be on 100k+ a week

I signed Essien for Saints on FM - it is possible! Dropped to £70k a week ... :o

once again you cannot have Jose Fonte and Michael Essien at the same club, but it' not the sort of thing that FM takes into consideration.

Yeah, Altidore has grown as a player in Holland. Strong and has pace.

One negative is that when he was at Huil a few years back he was a far from impressive.

@J_Klinsmann: Congrats to JOZY scoring and winning the Dutch Cup title!! Way to go JOZY!! #JozyAltidore #USMNT

Here is a internet translation

May 4, 2013-Jeremain Lens has set his sights on a departure at PSV. The attacker hopes to leave PSV this summer for an English adventure. Southampton would have more than ordinary interest.

Jeremain Lens scored this season already fourteen times in the Premier League and has a clear goal in mind for next summer. "I have mention before after this season like to want to leave," said Lens in conversation with the Eindhovens Dagblad. "There are several options. The Premier League is the most obvious. "

The attacker would not, however, to a transfer for two weeks thinking. Goal now is the second place in the Premier League and to win the Cup at the expense of AZ. Lens: "they are both important. The Cup you can now directly add and the second spot if price you need to redeem later. "

It is unknown how many PSV for the attacker hopes to catch. It is expected that a possible transfer fee however will amount to approximately EUR 5 million. Lens has a contract in Eindhoven until the summer of 2015.

Seems he wants to leave PSV this summer and would like to play in England, would be an excellent signing. scored and created more this season than he did the previous season.

For £4-4,5m it would be a great buy.

Saint_Charlie, where are you when you're needed. Your pal Nixon's just tweeted

Surprised the Southampton punters have not been asking me about the Mirror story about the Spanish right back ...

what a top class player he was at Chelsea, a total powerhouse box to box midfielder, but the injury looks like it has taken a huge amount from his game. Not for me. Going backwards and on his wage I'd want the player ge was not is now.

I believe we're approaching the time of the year where we can get excited whenever we see Itchen_Dan post...

He saves us all the time of trawling twitter ;)

It's good to see him refreshed - I thought he was still recuperating from his sterling work during the Gaston Ramirez saga last summer :)

Would be an absolute steal given they were talking double that last season. Starting games up top for Netherlands with RVP and Robben ain't too shabby. Our right hand side would be frighteningly quick.

Can't be arsed to read the previous 10 pages sorry but incase no one has given him a shout I am going for a Steve Davis upgrade that can also fill Gaston's role whilst also having good defensive discipline.

He's Argentinian, he's 25yrs old, played in the champions league and is at a club that sells and he is excellent at final 3rd balls and is one of the most improved players this year in europe.

He's Ever Banega.

Never quite fulfilled his potential at Valencia. Could be a very good signing though.

Good player. Tim Vickery always seems to have positive things to say about him too.

I see most of us are looking at midfielders or forwards so I thought i would post a CB who i like the look of and is highly rated by Inter a team who can't turn down cash for decent players.

Andrea Ranocchia - CB Inter 25yrs old.

and according to who scored has no known weaknesses

My first choice. Without him in their side Wigan are toothless. He has pace and power. Exactly what I'd hoped Mayuka might offer.
I could not agree with you more Turkish (and for-heaven's saint earlier in this thread). I've mentioned hi before a few times, but McManaman seems to get better every time I see him. Running rings round Cliche in the cupfinal Edited by Chez

So, if we sign him, and Joan Verdu from Espanyol, shall we get Marian out of retirement as well ?

Will end any debate over what tune to run out to - 'Boy named Sue'.

Nicola might have something to say on this though.

McManaman is the only one I´d take from Wigan.

And he´s great again today.

Just a thought, IF Wigan win the FA Cup today they might never be able to really celebrate it.

Cant celebrate properly tonight because of the game on tuesday, and if they go down it would be awkward to celebrate then....

I'm not so sure about McManaman. He's quick and very good at getting into the right areas but his end product is awful.
