Gavin the Ghost.

Crisp packet leaving is a sad moment for the club. Who else do we have that can dive 1 minute after the ball has gone past him? Who else to dive over or under the ball, and never into or onto it?

I'm off to light a candle in St Mary's church.

An enigmatic and perhaps misunderstood gloves-maesteo. I'm sure the Bolton fans, patient and kindly as our northern cousins often are, will grow to appreciate him to the level we have.

Beautiful.

To be fair, looking at highlights video, some of the shots hit directly at him do bounce off and away to a different player sometimes.

Well exactly - he didn't make any mistakes for us.

There was one iffy moment during his time with us when he got beat to the ball but on replay it turned out the attacker was offside.

Other than that, you won't find any bazunu clangers in a saints kit, if nothing else he was always reliable.

You all laughed but he clearly is fine for the championship or Bolton wouldn’t be snapping up this bargain of a signing, the know their onions. And they think he’s fine for the championship. Case closed

I am not laughing, we are letting a premier league keeper leave for peanuts....he was fine for the premier league, we snapped him up whilst up there

........our Skate mates, where he was a hero playing for them, did recognise the flaw when the ball whooshed through the corridor of uncertainty Baz was nowhere near it and only good fortune prevented the oppos sticking it in the back of their net.

I can’t help thinking we’ve dropped a bollock here (pun intended). Maybe they know something we don’t, Bolton’s Goalkeeping scout certainly looks pleased with himself today.

I don’t think I’ll ever see a worse keeper at saints. Especially not one that is given so many chances at a level way too high for him.

I know I’m in a minority here but I wish him all the best at Bolton. Clearly thrown in at the deep end and is not a PL player but he was the man between the sticks for the longest unbeaten run in a century and played the lions share of our promotion season, so fair play to him for that.

I don’t think the continuous turnover in players, managers, leagues and two pretty serious injuries has done his form or confidence by good. Since his debut in 2022 to his return against Wrexham three years later, Jack Stephens was the only other player still at the club. Hopefully he has a couple of settled seasons up at Bolton and rediscovers his rhythm.

Can you believe he played 97 times for Saints? Ninety. Seven.

Seemed like a nice bloke and a solid pro so hopefully he figures it out. Can't have been easy being thrown in at the deep end with the shitshow that was going on at Saints on and off the pitch

However he was, unfortunately, largely dreadful and should never have been parachuted in as Saints #1 and once it became so obvious that he was out of his depth, he should've been removed far sooner

Massive massive blind spot from the club to only be moving Baz on now, it’s at least 3 years too late. Was never up to it at Championship level or above, and absolutely ridiculous that he was thrown in and trusted to be #1. So many soft goals conceded and points lost. We only got promoted in the first place because he got injured and McCarthy was put back in - the fact that he was an upgrade tells you all you need to know

Since we signed Bazunu he’s won more league games against Chelsea than McCarthy has won at St Mary’s.
