He's one of maybe two who can hold his head up and say that he's actually put in a showing this year. I wish him luck for wherever he goes in the summer, it'll be to a top flight club in some league for sure - could see him suited to Spain.

From the chatter they dont seem to want to pay much more than £30m so will be interesting.

Can't see us selling for less than £50m + a sell on of some sort. Also some rumours of JWP maybe returning as part of the deal, but he's also just been made VC at West Ham so would seem unlikely.

We’ve priced Dibling at £50m - we turned down circa £40m + £5m plus 15% sell-on if reports are to believed. For a player who has achieved less and only has one year left. On that basis we’ll be looking for £50m absolute minimum for Fernandes. It’s not a credible offer from West Ham.

Will be nigh on impossible to keep him but at least we should be set for a big fee given the amount of interest in him.

So far he has personally seemed to handle it all very well which is an exception rather than the rule these days.

Couldn't begrudge him a move to somewhere like Atletico Madrid. Top player and funny that despite some of the horrific business SR have done they have also managed to find the odd absolute gem. Seems mad that we weren't especially challeged to sign him last summer.

Wouldn’t be surprised if no club can meet our valuation of him this summer, and Fernandes strikes me as the sort of character that would respect that.

I remember Amorim being gutted to lose him at Sporting.  I always considered they would be interested, but figured they wanted a more specialist DM.

Totally agree.  He's worth more to us than others are prepared to pat for him.  He's only on £20k a week and 4 years on his contract to run so his value won't drop soon.  He's the sort of player we'll desperately need to get us promoted and to give us a chance of stating up.

£35m + £8m add ons. Our quoted counter £45m + £5m easily attained add ons + 25% sell on. A long way away.

If that's true, they're more deluded than I thought. He's our best player and one of the only squad members to come out of last season with any credit. 50 million + would be the point we would listen.

The caveat is if he hands in a transfer request but I've seen nothing about him so far that would suggest he's that sort of person.

We don't want to sell clearly but we're also not in a position to turn down absolute top dollar for a player - that's pretty obvious. We also aren't going to publically put a figure on what we will sell for because that's a bad negotiating tactic.

I don't think we return with a counter offer for this one, like we're reportedly doing with Dibling. Fernandes still seems happy to be here, played both matches and has a longer contract.

Or bid close to our asking price. He subsequently gave us a decent championship season and an ok PL season and walked for free. Did we make the right decision on the asking price...probably, but RB sure looks weak now.

I'd say KWP was excellent value for us and if nothing else gave the fans a lot of excitement and some memories and moments which is at the end of the day what football is all about. I reckon we'll get a loan in at RB possibly.

Poster on KUMB thinks they should go for El Khannous to force us to accept a bid for Fernandes. Sure, buying one of our rivals best players, and thus significantly weakening them, will force us to sell ours. 

Unless a relegated club is in financial trouble, which we aren't, having already made £35 million on players sales/loans with a significant cut in the wage bill, then we have every right to ask for a price we want for our best players. The only way that changes is if the player or his agent start getting antsy.

The closer we get to the end of the window, the more buying clubs will panic spend. I wouldn't be surprised to see Tyler and Matty go, maybe even Taylor too, but we'll be selling on our terms.
