Or inside forwards? i thought he played with inside forwards and often with a false nine as opposed to CF. not sure he used wingers but relied on the FB getting forward to create overloads out wide. Probably totally wrong but that im expecting us to line up

And whether we would be able to bypass international sanctions. And whether they would provide the player with a work permit. The fact is hasnt been signed by someone better has nothing to do with ability. If those reports have any truth then you would hope the club and lawyers have determined a way that they could actually send that amount of cash legitimately to Russia and register him, but I can't see it myself. 1

Not sure that a football transfer falls into that category.

I think KWP was the only exception, and his non departure was probably because he was fucking terrible in the relegation season but us having no interest in selling him cheap, especially as Livramento left. Ramsdale and Ferndandes will inevitably depart. Will Dibling become the next KWP, I somehow doubt it. 3

saintant Posted yesterday at 15:35 Posted yesterday at 15:35 It seems now the pre-season tour is over the dominos are beginning to fall starting with outgoings. Would be good to hear some news about incoming players but hopefully work is in progress.

qwertyell Posted yesterday at 15:47 Posted yesterday at 15:47 Edozie is the only senior winger on our books that can beat a man. We desperately needed more quality out wide even before his (impending) departure. 11
macca155 Posted yesterday at 15:49 Posted yesterday at 15:49 No surprise '10 clubs' are in for Fernades, he is Premier League ready. I just hope he gives us another year. I thought Forest, Villa, Spurs, or Utd would be in a bidding war. West Ham seem to be getting a bit desperate. He has a contract to 2029 so he won't be cheap. That might just stop any deals. Wishful thinking on my part sadly.

One person who would likely be aware of how many clubs are interested
verlaine1979 Posted yesterday at 16:48 Posted yesterday at 16:48 I'm imagine Fernandes is appealing because a lot of clubs assume he'll be cheap since a) we didn't pay very much for him b) he was good but performance level was probably limited vs true potential by the drag effect of playing in an historically awful team, and c) the perception that we'll have to sell because we got relegated. They probably think they can get him for double what we paid if they wait.

There will be plenty of tire kickers thinking they can get him for £25m or something silly like that, but we are only going to be selling to a serious buyer making a serious offer. I wonder just how many of those there really are. 3

Given he's got that long left on his contract and we don't need to sell him, then I hope we show some balls and tell him (politely) that he's not going anywhere this season. I fully expect 40 million plus (hopefully closer to 50) which is good money but I just hope we can bring in top championship players in a few areas in exchange. 2

hypochondriac Posted yesterday at 17:54 Posted yesterday at 17:54 9 minutes ago, samhammond said: £7-8m or so... That's about 50 million raised this summer then. You do have to think we will be able to hold onto one of our bigger players. Let's say we do sell Aribo, send Ramsdale on loan for a sizable fee and then Fernandes for big cash thats going to be getting close to 100 million. Surely at that point the argument for selling Dibling and THB at least for financial reasons won't make a lot of sense.

But that’s old news. Today’s Wailing novelty is HOW you say it THATS THE PROBLEM. ho ho. No initials for players names - half the posters here don’t even know who is in the squad so I appreciate use of their initials is actually a waste of time, others, realising that being offended nay even outraged and angry is the latest and best thing to be- about anything- but most of all about Saints can now take umbrage at initials. If you like this content please like and consider subscribing to SAINTSWAIL@SFC.com. I've thought often that people use initials because; a) they can't remember the player's names b) they can't spell the player's names c) they can't pronounce the player's names Isn't it just laziness? 1
