Anybody see BK in the pre season training testing? I’m pretty resigned to him being unsellable! BUT if physicality is going to be our new thing, well, he fits the bill…

Isn’t he supposed to be on holiday, there was talk of cutting that short but maybe it didn’t materialise?

Dont want this to rumble on, just want him gone

Saints app has just sent me a notification. I open it and a video of a magic 8 ball shaking plays. At the end it says “No Doubt About It” with a date of 3/7. So we’re signing Errol Brown’s ghost on Thursday?

He’s not obscure enough for our clever-bollocks recruitment team.

I think being a mentalist is his thing which is the main problem.

I assumed it meant we're going with blind luck as a strategy this season.

Looks like medical today then, I stand corrected!

Fitted the bill when he first joined but based on his recent appearances for us I'd say he no longer fits that criteria. Best thing he could do is get somewhere he's guaranteed a spot every week so he can build up that physicality again, not sure we are in a position to be guaranteeing him that.

So the striker appears to be Downs.  I'm quite happy about that but can see why some would have reservations.

Wonder who the creative midfielder is?  There's not been a massive amount of links but the Besfort Zeneli one didn't seem too bad and he seems to have the ability to go past a player in a similar way to Stuart Armstrong which I think we missed last season.

Zeneli looks pretty good and a realistic target. Just started getting caps for Sweden too, so must be pretty decent.

I think it’s not unreasonable to think Downs may have been given a positive heads up by his National team boss, MP on Saints. In which case thank you Poch!

Surprised we haven't looked at Agyemang either.

We seem to be well on course to sign nobody with only a few more weeks to go.

I think we're on the same wavelength.  This season is looking a write-off already I think we'd all agree.  While loads of other clubs are signing loads of really good players in all the important positions (don't ask me to name them - I haven't bothered checking), what are we doing - nothing apart from probably casting our eyes over Man City U-14s I'm fairly sure. How long has this Spors character been in position - three months now?   In that case why didn't we sign loads of fantastic players three months ago?  Exactly - because we can't get past those running the club like a cheap seaside B&B......

Plays at an RB club so probably true.

Moved to Salzburg for £10m to play for Klopp's old asst Pep Lijnders, who has since been sacked. Made 14 appearances under Klopp at Liverpool but believe his Dad (Lee Clark; ex-Newcastle and Fulham midfielder) had been suggesting that a return to the UK may be on the cards after the change of direction after Lijnders left

Never heard of him but sounds like one of those players not quite good enough for Liverpool but good enough to have a decent career elsewhere. Bit unlucky at RB as coach he signed him was sacked shortly after. Give this it will be an absolute disgrace and lack of ambition if we miss out on him and i'll be questions Spors suitability for the job.

Would rather Tyler Morton

I'd love him to come here but I imagine he costs the best part of £30m and has his sights set higher than us

Clark could barely get a game in Austria last term, sign him and we'll have learned fucking nothing

Yeah, my brief research has concluded he got a move to Austria (10M must be a pretty big fee for that league), couldn't hack the physicality of the league and is angling for a move back.  Sounds more like trying to drum up a bit of interest in him than anything else and if can't hack the physical demands of Austria then it doesn't exactly fit the profile Spors was talking about.

Seems a good price. I guess we think Sugawara will work out.

Or one of the positions that were not deemed critical, and were waiting to offload before buying.

we must see Bree/Sugawara as 'OK' otherwise RB would have been deemed 'critical'.

He made 25 appearances?

The Austrian Bundesliga season runs for 32 games, he played in 17 of those, plus six UCL games and two domestic cup games

Only started 7 of those 17 though and has played 21 minutes since 15th Feb (he was out for three games with injury initially).  Pretty clear he's not what you'd call a first team regular.

But that’s also not ‘could barely get a game’

Sorry, felt a bit MLG there. Off for a cold shower

Nah, fair enough.  Looking at his record though I'm not sure anyone would get excited if his name wasn't prefixed with "ex-Liverpool youngster".

You know what I mean though. To sign anyone from that league they'd have to be all-singing, all-dancing at that level.

That’s more like it.  Decent player.

Are you basing that on anything other than the fact he has a British name?

He pissed all over us when Liverpool beat us 3-0 in the league cup a couple of seasons ago.
So yes, I’m basing it on what I’ve seen and not because he has a British name.

Is that ok with you?

I'd want more evidence than a good 46mins (if its the game I think it is were we should have been a few up first half)

You mean the 5th round FA Cup game where our reserves played their reserves, which as SkintSaint points out we should have been winning in the first half?

Just find it interesting that this lad, whose done next to nothing since landing in Austria, would be a good signing in your eyes, yet links to others from overseas is just our recruitment team being “clever bollocks”

FA Cup, where he did have a good first half but then again our line up was not exactly going to give Liverpool much of a game to be fair!

Are we looking at players that will take us up or are these transfer connections the quality to play in prem if we get up? Serious question.

It feels to me like another set of bargain young players that we are connected with that are pulled from various lower leagues who will be tested in a very physical league like the championship.

I’m hoping that these are Spors and Still’s known first choices and to them great acquisitions. I think it will be interesting how these will fit with whoever is left from the last debacle, and what the overall team profile will be in terms of skills and experience. If these come off it feels like rolling the dice and hoping it’s a six. 🙏🏻🤞🏻

Coventry fans seem to really rate him: https://www.skybluestalk.co.uk/threads/milan-van-ewijk.168172/

Interesting read, cheers. He sounds like the sort of full back Still likes - if he is on our radar it fits with the push for more athleticism.

a few comments on that thread about Rudoni too who some have mentioned. A double raid would piss off some Cov fans for sure and in some ways they feel to be a ‘similar’ size club but it’s not entirely impossible and would make a lot of sense in terms of recruiting top championship players with scope to kick on if/when we go back up.

I would feel a bit for Cov fans. Generally a nice bunch and have had a few almost moments after years of dross and uncertainty.

I'd raise doubts about the credibility of that source. A self-proclaimed 'Upcoming Football Journalist' and 'Transfer Guru' with only 187 followers.
