I think if people are honest KWP is a solid signing for a mid table prem side, he was never going to one of the big boys as he's just not quite a that level but he has shown he is a class above the Championship and too good to be relegation fodder.  I wish him all the best decent player, decent bloke but part of the past now.

My point is if he'd been playing for someone else who'd been playing like we had for the last 3-4 years that's exactly what they'd say. 

He's a decent player and a good guy so wish him all the best, but we all know if we're honest people on here would be laughing at West Ham for a a free signing with 2 relegations in 3 years if he'd been going to them from a different club

Ultimately he is not enough of a complete package, otherwise he would have been snapped up at the end of 2022-23. That being said, on a free a mid-table side like West Ham could do a lot worse.

Didn't they lose Coufal? They brought in a new young left wing back recently as well, so looks like Potter is going for some mobility down the wing back slots!

Yeah, Coufal went. Both of their starting full backs are African internationals now (Diouf with Senegal; Wan-Bissaka with Congo) so KWP is some good insurance against AFCON as a minimum, with ability to be much more - and can play on either side obviously

It's not three weeks to go, that's a stupid deadline if you everything is going to be sorted then. 100% it won't.

As things stand we have a very, very strong Championship team.

Like every single window when there is a month and a half left the majority of what will happen has yet to.

But right now, I don't see any urgency to be doing anything in particular. If the season started tomorrow we probably have the strongest starting XI in the league and have had about 7 months to plan how to replace players the club knows are likely to leave. We should be as prepared as we possibly can be.

Read it in context of the post I was originally replying to, where he said... "there's absolute mountains still to be done" as "our current best team you'd imagine about half of them would still be off". 

Until the club know for certain they are leaving, they do not need to replace them.

Lavia was on the bench at Sheff Weds too, so there was a lot of churn even after that first game.

I think the only player who didn't stick around for the start was Tino. He was the surprise sale for me that summer, I thought he may stick around in the Champ and get some proper game time behind him after being injured for so long. To be fair, he didn't make the wrong call as he's gone to a great setup at Newcastle and is now one of their best players.

Continue identifying targets, analysis and research into them, find out which players might be interested in joining, speak with agents to see if it financially fits, enquire to clubs to see if they may sell, convince players to wait for us. Internally they will be doing shit loads right now. We probably have the highest risk in the league for number of departures, so I’d suggest our recruitment folk are under a ton of pressure (remember they also do 3x the work to bring in players for the other SR teams). Replacing players isn’t like in FM, its a big process and overhead. And we all know most transfers hit in the last week/days of the window. We’re going to struggle to replace 5, 6, 7 players in the last few days and get anyone decent.

Or we could just panic like Ras did with Onuachu, Sulemana, the Croatian lad and someone else if I remember right. None of them were scouted and Ras pissed off a lot of people within the club by going off by himself and its had a long impact on the club.

Is all correct but when you’re used to playing computers games and you get a bid out of the blue and then you can do a quick search on a few stats and make a bid yourself within minutes understanding how things work in the real world is more than a little tricky

I merely implied the real transfer process is somewhat more complex than FM. I was not being dismissive of it. I have played it and loved it in many of its forms over years. It’s a game. I mean I won the Premier League as Southampton - it’s clearly not real.

I took Harrogate town from the conference north to champions league winners within 10 seasons, 5 back to back promotions, also won the league, FA cup, league cup and world club cup didn’t even expand the stadium beyond 3,500.  Im not joking either I am a genius or it’s not as realistic as some might think, 

(that said I have won a champions league and Europa league this season with my u12s team  so maybe I am a genius)

It's a great model, but just that; a model. 

It's as similar to reality as the 1/24 scale F1 car kits I used to have time to make when younger. They came damn close, but too small and simplified.
