Even with Saints going through challenging times, there’s still enjoyment to be taken elsewhere in football. Arsenal’s annual new year meltdown, Spurs being Spurs, seeing clubs like Forest and Leicester seemingly imploding from the inside from trying to cheat success.

I cannot believe how favourable the results have been since that famous half time against Leicester.

Barring the top two, which has been gone a long time, the others really have allowed us back in the door.

We clearly are not ready for promotion, but I'd like a run into the play offs and a roll of the dice.

Exciting.

Sheffield Wednesday about to be officially relegated

Bizarre celebrations at the end, anybody would think that Sheffield United had just won the league.  I know its a Derby but ffs reign it in a bit, have some class, be humble.

What would our lot do if we relegated Pompey?

United didn't relegate anybody, Wednesday were relegated at the start of the season by circumstances, not by anybody else.

You know full well a huge chunk of the fans in the stadium won't give a shiny shit about the circumstances of the season if their win 'confirms relegation for their rival.

I wasn't talking particularly about the fans, more the players and staff, banner, the mass photo opportunity which was very obviously planned.  All a bit over the top celebrations for winning a derby against a team which had been decimated before they took the field.  Pretty sure its not the sort of celebration I've ever seen after a Manchester, Merseyside or any other to be honest.  Each to their own of course, but i found it all a bit classless.

Yeah, I'd expect our players to have a little celebration with the fans but that's it.

Not really, the rules were changed because of VAR so would have been a goal pre VAR.

But it aint a goal now and the ref did not disallow it, so it was missed...and VAR stepped in

Pre VAR an accidental handball would be a goal. So with no Var the ref made the right decision.

But we are not Pre VAR and the ref did not disallow it.

WBA have sacked Eric Ramsey. Shame, just before we play them.

9 games. 0 wins.

I’m pretty sure he was a name linked with us several times in SRs time here

Yup. Just our sort of high ceiling manager.

Even now, Rasmus is thinking that now he's broken, he can be fixed. He's digging out the questions he asked Nathan about Stoke.

Rusty second favourite to get the gig.

It's not for a couple of weeks, that's plenty of time for him to bed in the philosophy and get Rothwell in on loan.

Go on Albion, you know you want to

Rothwell only just joined Sheffield United (for an undisclosed fee so we'll never know how much Rangers paid them to take him) so even Russ would struggle to persuade him. Not sure when he's back from the ban from his debut red card either. I doubt Martin fancies a relegation battle and probably won't allow himself to be tempted back into management until the summer. If he waits there's always the chance Wilcox remembers him and brings him to Man Utd of Real Madrid come knocking.

If you look on the map, half the town is basically airport. It’s like Eastleigh knocking Inter out of the Champions League. Madness really.
