Should be a penalty there to Norwich as well.

That should be a second yellow too if they're giving yellows for going down and grabbing the ball.

Yep refs got all the big decisions wrong today. Never a pen for Ipswich, Nunez should have been sent off and pen for Norwich. Gave 11 yellow cards I think given what he was giving them out for Nunez 100% should have got a second.

Norwich created nothing really so Ipswich in balance probably deserved the win but no doubt penalty changed the game, awful decision

Where / how are wrexham gaining four (probably five to be certain) points on Hull to get to the playoffs?

Wrexham gaining four points on one team is a far, far more likely scenario than Saints gaining seven points on three different teams. The whole Saints finishing second dream was basically a nine-fold accumulator on:

Norwich vs Ipswich - Home win

Saints vs Derby - Home win

Saints vs Blackburn - Home win

Swansea vs Saints - Away win

Saints vs Bristol C - Home win

Saints vs Ipswich - Home win

PNE vs Saints - Away win

Ipswich vs Boro - Draw

Wrexham vs Boro - Home win

There are plenty of other permutations which could play out but you'd basically need to overhaul a combined 21 points on Ipswich, Millwall, Boro and Hull. If you add in a couple of draws for Saints, which is more than likely, then you start needing five or six more games for the teams above us to go our way.

The bookies had us down as having a 3% chance of automatic promotion before the Old Farm Derby today, I'd have said that was about right.

Not such a bad result, Ipswich are the one team I wouldn't want to face in the playoffs. The other candidates have been inconsistent recently, we can take them. If we lost to Ipswich on the final day and had them in the playoffs, that's a bad omen I feel.

Man City vs Arsenal next Sunday for the sky sports super duper Sunday mega title decider playoff super final

May as well just write Man City will have three more points after they beat Arsenal next week.

We can all see it happening 😂

Pretty much a perfect set of results for us this weekend. It looks increasingly like we won’t have to deal with Ipswich in the playoffs and none of the other candidates are in any sort of form.

I couldn’t really give a crap about Pompey if we’re not playing them. Their injury time winner at Boro is cracking news for us.

Bloody incensed Boro let those skate fucks win. It’s not like they don’t have a lot to play for and to lose to that lot at home is unacceptable. Really could have been the start of confirming their regulation. Infuriating!

Baring them losing their next 4, Millwall winning theirs and a 33 goal swing that’s Coventry promoted today. Congratulations to them a club very much like us who have been through some horrible times in the last 20 years.

Next Saturday Portsmouth play Leicester, mooosive game at the bottom.
Blackburn play on Friday against Coventry after playing us on Tuesday - potentially squeaky bum time for them IF they lose both, as they'd have played two games more than most of the others down there.

The stats from the game suggest the skates were getting battered as well. So fucking annoying. They should be gone really but have got lucky with some last minute winners.

My mate was there he’s a Boro fan, said they should have won about 5-0 but a typical Boro performance lately dominating the game, not scoring and then throwing it away. Reckons we’ll finish above them and beat them in the play offs

If Leicester get relegated on the final day of the season, it'll be ten years to the day since they won the Premier League.

Couldn’t have happened to a more entitled set of fans

Be honest would you swap their last 10 years for ours?
Been the best roller coaster ride in the history of football and I’d take that a billion times over ours just happy to stay on the premier league shite.

Not sure why you've included all the whataboutery about finishing second in answer to my question!

It looks like you're claiming these two results would give Wrexham FOUR more points than Boro though!

In this scenario :

Ipswich vs Boro - draw = 1 point for Boro

Wrexham vs Boro - Home win = 3 points for Wrexham

Result = 1 point for Boro, 3 points for Wrexham, so Wrexham gain TWO points on Boro not Four?  And that was before yesterday's results!

I think we all would. I certainly would anyway.

I wonder what it’s like supporting Leicester now though, particularly if you’re a certain age. For a club of that size, they basically completed football. Winning the PL, FA Cup and making the latter stages of the CL was always going to be their absolute ceiling and once a fan experiences all that, I wonder what’s left to aim towards. Hopefully one day we’ll find out 🙄

Not a chance!

Where are they in the player trading league?  Exactly, nowhere!  No point them even existing if they aren't going to compete!

The list of fixtures I posted was basically what we needed to finish second and why it was far less likely than Wrexham finishing above Hull. That bit is straight forward, they just need a win and a draw more than Hull.

The point about Boro losing at home to Wrexham was that we don't just need to catch Ipswich. We needed (before yesterday's fixtures) two points on Hull and six on Ipswich, Boro and Millwall.

It's a bit like all those PL relegation fights we were in. You're better off being 13th and five points above 18th, than being 17th and six points above 18th.

I looked at the Leicester forum earlier. On the whole, fairly balanced, with a lot of echoes of our own, bleaker, times.

They're all very aware of the financial disaster of going down again.

Foxestalk does make for similar reading to here earlier in the season. A lot of similar characters and gallows humour.

A lot of them convinced the club will go under within a couple of years which seems slightly OTT but I guess they have a better idea than me.
