LiberalCommunist Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago (edited) Now the real quandary starts. If we assume those two lost points have dropped us out the hunt for second, then we need to manage the squad to get into the best possible shape for the upcoming play offs. Seeing how jaded we looked last night, really highlights the importance. But the flip side to that is, we need Millwall and Ipswich to run each other to the wire so they don't get a chance to rest. We need them at full throttle in every game, so the one who falls short and drops into third is weakened sufficiently. Clearly, one of these two is going to pose the biggest challenge to us getting promoted this season, and with the luck they have both enjoyed this season, we are going to need everything possible going our way to beat them. Feels a bit dirty saying that. But this amazing run has taken its toll, and we are only a couple injuries away from the wheels coming off. Wood in for Jack last night messed with our defensive cohesion. No doubt about it. Edited 16 hours ago by LiberalCommunist 1
Willo of Whiteley Posted 15 hours ago Posted 15 hours ago Chelsea will always be a basket case of a club as long as they keep buying children for £50M apiece (inflating the market), and mercenaries with no talent like Garnacho. Managers there are doomed, but I’d go there for a quick payday.

Well, we at least have the benefit of Ipswich and Milwall having 3 matches between them before our next league match, so we'll have a good idea whether we're in with a shout of second by next Tuesday. If we're not, we basically have two weeks to prepare for the semis, so plenty of time to give some rest. 3
Willo of Whiteley Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago Tuesday Takeaways: - Agent Bazunu gifting Millwall autos, and making another spectacular goalkeeping howler to go with the rest of the collection - Pompey’s defence very much the definition of “spread your cheeks” - Bristol City, one of the most boring teams I’ve seen

beatlesaint Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago I see Spurs are advertising for a psychologist. Umm sounds familiar. So apart from the giant cock on the top of their stadium is there anything that’s original about bloody Tottenham?
Saint NL Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago Rosenior seems more suited to podcasts than management. But guess he won't have to rush to find a new job, nice little earner no doubt.

The club don't help themselves. "As the club works to bring stability to the head coach position, we will undertake a process of self-reflection to make the right long-term appointment," Pretending they are going to Tibet on a self reflection retreat is just the sort of nonsense that got philosophy managers like Potter and Rosenior hired in the first place. The Beeb reporting that the interim manager is in place for a mysterious length of time. "Calum McFarlane will take over as interim manager until the season of the season." Rosenior will now be appearing in Oliver Twist, where he also runs an establishment with 100s of kids on life time contracts.
Willo of Whiteley Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Basket case of a club. Can you imagine working under that shambles! 🤣 Pay would be good mind!

Saint Pete Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Boro 1 up on Sheff W. We could do without them scoring a hatful, they need 5 tonight to go above us in 4th.

Stripey McStripe Shirt Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Unbelievable that Burnley are going down as it stands, even though they have JWP, who some people on this forum think would be hugely motivational/inspirational were he to return here...

Andy Hill Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Let’s hope Ipswich get 2nd spot - if not they are sure to get a penalty or two in the playoffs !! 1

Saint Pete Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago City not put it to bed vs Burnley yet, possibly good for us as the likes of Haaland and Cherki still on the pitch. May be rested against us if they play the full match?
sockeye Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Oxford with Sheffield Wednesday and Millwall next. Could they perform a miracle and send Mad Nate down?
beatlesaint Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago I thought Middlesbrough would score enough to overtake us tonight. In the playoffs am I right in thinking it’s 3rd v 6th and 4th v 5th?
Lighthouse Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Fairly happy with those results. Ipswich take a big step towards beating Millwall into second and Boro don’t put any kind of meaningful dent in our GD advantage in a game they should be winning at a canter. 2

Rather Millwall go up than Ipswich. Would fancy our chances in play-off final if it's us against Ipswich - not so confident if it's us and Millwall.

Also Millwall took 4 points off us and outplayed us in both games.
whelk Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Good to see an advert for vaginal dryness straight after the football. No longer a man’s game!
LGTL Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Middlesbrough were absolutely terrible tonight by all accounts.

Ipswich, on their day, are a better team than Millwall and the one I’d least like to meet in the final.
