Appy Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago Solid and not spectacular is fine for a right back, we’re not going to have another Walker-Peters in the Championship and that is fine. Hopefully means Sugawara is off. 3

Could be Bednarek in right back form but that isn’t necessarily a bad thing considering expectations for the next 3-4 years. I don't know him, at all, but Charlie Taylor played 160 games in the PL, so I'll reserve judgement until I have seen him, up against someone with a bit of pace and talent. Sugawara has been terrible, so really pleased to see us try again at the position. 2

I know little about this guy but on the face of it, he looks a solid RB for this level with just the right balance of youth versus experience. I’m not sure I quite get this negativity. And we let BBD go on loan, is he shit? oh wait

SWLondon Saint Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago Honestly, what is wrong with people - he would probably have started for us last season and definitely better than Bree and Suga, who the hell do people think we're going to sign? 10
Farmer Saint Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago 4 minutes ago, LGTL said: I’d question the length of contract, 4 years seems unnecessary. But a solid signing I guess, if not spectacular. Why? If we get promoted he'll be a decent back up in the Prem, as he has been previously. No risk, low wages. 3

This guy is a completely different profile to KWP too. I think we all appreciate that having KWP last time out in the Champ was a bonus, a ridiculous bonus. Those levels of players don't often operate in the Champ. We got lucky he stuck around. Edited 6 hours ago by S-Clarke 1

Not the most exciting signing we’ll ever make but it feels like a small upgrade in a problem position for us. Very much under the radar too. Welcome aboard Mads. Got to be better than the last Danish signing we made
maysie Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago How much do you reckon we paid? £3m-4m, not sure how much of his contract he had left.
Polegategavin243 Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago 16 minutes ago, SambaMaverick said: What does that have to do with what I've just said? He's 26, if he was any good then they would want him... Brentford are bang in trouble this season. Brian Mbueno must be shit then too! There could be a multitude of reasons Brentford got rid. Mads may have asked to be considered to leave, he is Danish as is Thomas Frank and maybe he didn’t fancy playing for, or wasn’t considered the right profile by the new manager. 1

Suhari Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago So from my brief research on this fella, who admittedly I had never heard of, suggests: solid rather than spectacular; reliable; a good bloke; athletic and six-foot; and sticks in a good cross. What's not to like? Not every player can be a world-beater. Pretty pleased with this. 4

Forester Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Very good signing, hopefully will lead to Sugawara, one of the worst natural defenders I have ever seen play for Saints, going.

He can stick a load of crosses in for our really potent strikers who are so good at getting on the end of crosses 😉

AlexLaw76 Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Is he alright at defending? Can he beat the first man at crossing the ball? Can he take a competent throw-in, and not aim at a team-mates throat? If yes to any of the above, he is better than Sugawara and is fine with m,e 2

We're enthusiastic because Sugawara is hopeless, Bree is mediocre, even in the Championship, and this bloke seems to have DAJF Brentford getting promoted from this division. 3

I've always thought he was a cracking little right back when he's played for them. Not so little, he's 6' tall 🙂 Love this signing and pretty sure he'll be our best defender by a distance. He comes across as a really good team guy and seems 100% committed to being the best he can so looking forward to him slotting seamlessly into the side and making us more solid at the back. Super bonus signing right out of the blue so credit to the recruitment team for getting this over the line with minimum fuss. Brilliant stuff! 1
