I’d be surprised if we lost Tonda. It would have to be to a Premier League club surely, not sure his stock would be high enough for Bundesliga. Would an PL club go for him? I don’t see it.  Also in his interests to build his CV with us and stick a promotion on there.

I think he is on a lot of shortlists around Europe. I don't think he stays too long if we don't go up.

With the transfer fees we got for Dibling and Fernandes you wonder what Jander is worth in today's market. Not that I'd want us to sell him but he'll likely go in the summer if we don't get promoted.

I think we would ask for more than that and unless he has a release clause we don't need to accept a poor offer.

This is the worry. It seems we agree these at fairly low sums (£25m suggested for Scienza)and perhaps look to renegotiate terms after a year.

If it is the case then it’s a shame, but reverse argument is we can’t  sign the player without.

I was hoping he’d bring a bit of a Schneiderlin as a DM but from what I’ve read that doesn’t seem to be his game. But I’m with Gio seeing an element of Steve Williams style in the videos.

Anyway if he doesn’t give a Williams - Schneiderlin hybrid performance v the Skates then it’s open letter time to Spors.

Great that he’s living up to hopes and expectations.

Hope we can keep him for another season, whichever division we’re in.

He was immense tonight, carried on from the FA Cup game. He reads the game so well, and you wouldn't think it by looking at him, but he's so strong and so hard to get the ball off of. He protects it so well, anticipates well - but just watch him off the ball as well, he's got a very intelligent and mature above his age approach to his work rate and the positions he anticipates.

Jander's legs seem like Inspector Gadget when he makes some of those tackles, you can see the leg grow, win the ball and retract again.

One of the best at winning the ball in that way I've seen, without fouling. He's got a huge future.

Genuinely, I can see him playing for the biggest teams. What a find.

I hope he stays

Had a good look at him today and every tackle and quick ball to get us going was done by Jander.

Easily can see a team shoving a 40m cheque under our noses if we don’t go up.

If we can get £40m for Fernandes then we should absolutely be asking for the same for Jander.

Fernandes was proven in the premier league Jander isn’t. That in itself is a reason why we won’t get that sort of fee

Christ alive.

No one is paying £40m for Jander in the summer.

We could possibly get £20-25m but as others have said, we ain’t getting £40m from anyone, as a championship club for a player who’s only played championship level football in this country. Bonkers

We’ll be lucky to get £20m for him, and based on Shea Charles contract I reckon we’d accept £15m for him, maybe even less.

Why would we accept £15m or less on someone we signed for £10m last year, has been brilliant and is on a four year deal?

£40m is mental but "£15m or less" is even more mental.

You’ve misunderstood, Jander I reckon £20M is more than enough.

Shea Charles I think we’ll be lucky to get £15M given he’d have a year left on his contract, was offered a new deal in the autumn and nothing has happened since. He’s almost certainly gone.

It's not "more than enough". We spent £20m on THB. For the reasons I put above we would easily get more than that for Jander.

If the only offers we get for Caspar Jander are £20m or below we won't sell him.

No way he goes for 20m. Not with the contract he’s on and the performances he puts in. Shea is different given the 1 year etc etc. I think he will sign if we get promoted.

Given performances and contract length, we should be pushing for £25-30M for Jander, with sell ons. The only reason i would change that is if we are in a position where we are forced to sell, or want to sell to reinvest - Personally, I think the 3 players we'll try our hardest to keep are Jander, THB, and Azaz 🤷‍♂️. Fail to get promoted and we may lose all 3 sadly. Scienza is going to have interest and is an obvious "big sell", Charles will be sold because of the contract situation, and i'm not convinced Downes will want to stay another season.

Worth noting, year 1 parachute payments are 55% (of the prem's equal share broadcasting revenue), year 2 are 45% - which equates to a drop of circa £10-15M for next season to circa £39M.

After that, it would have dropped to the year 3 parachute payment value (of 20% or £16-18M per year). We won't get this parachute payment as only in the prem for 1 year.

Therefore the scary drop is the cliff edge that's coming if we fail to get promoted in both this season and next season, as we will then have to accommodate the circa £39M drop in revenue (year 2 payments to no payments) in one go.

So whilst we don't have to make drastic savings this season. Fail to get promoted and we face a revenue cliff edge in the 3rd season that's comparable to the 1st season relegation - and the gamble of whether to go for it or cut out cloth accordingly this summer.

Jander has been ok, his recent performances good, but let’s not gloss over the fact that he’s had a very mediocre season in terms of stats.

He’s been good, but to say he’s been £30M good in the Championship is quite funny.

But why sell him for less... that's surely the crux of it. We'll have a circa £10-15M drop in revenue from this season to next season. That's not earth shattering. Its 10% of the prem's equal share broadcasting revenue, not the 45% we dropped this season, and not the 45% we'll drop next season.

Jander is young, one of our best players, and looks to have a very high ceiling. This season coming will be our last real chance to get promoted (if we fail this year)... The time to flog our best players will be summer 2027, not summer 2026.

I suspect it won't have harmed our stance on asking for a decent fee, for his performance against Citeh and the last few games.....i'm not for one minute saying that clubs only look at a few tv games before signing a player (although it looks like we have from time to time) but he stepped up against a decent Citeh side, so can make that next step it would seem.

I would fully expect us to ask for a decent fee, but I think that’ll come down significantly.

I say that as a Jander fan, I think he’s been decent, but if we’re in the Championship and say he wants to leave, then we’ll probably take a slightly reduced fee to move him on.

Just trying to gauge your version of ok/decent can you order our MF’s from best to worst?

Downes, Jander, Bragg, Charles

Downes is a player we should try and keep at all cost.

Jander and Charles have re-sale value because of the age or short length of contract remaining.

Bragg I think has done very well and been quietly efficient since coming in, and isn’t afraid to put a leg in.

Charles has looked very casual and if it wasn’t for his two excellent goals I don’t think he’d be talked about in the way some currently are. I’ll be surprised if he is still here come the end of the summer, can see him ending up at somewhere like Forest or Everton, back up north.
