Monk Posted September 23 Posted September 23 Matterface having a stinker. ”Fellows is unavailable tonight” he’s on the bench. ”Shane Log scored the winner in a Ralph Hasenhuttl Saints side in the first leg, who would go on and feature in the final”.

Puel was our manager in the semi final win at Anfield, not Hasenhuttl. Fellows isn’t unavailable tonight - he’s on the bench. In our jobs we'd be sacked for such glaring errors. 1 1
Scoobysaint Posted September 23 Posted September 23 My only gripe so far is watching Manning defend. When their winger gets it, Manning drops back into space and hopes Scienza or somebody else will shut them down. If they do get through 1 V1 with Manning, he doesn’t shut down the cross. Living the fact that the back five are moving the ball up the field with more urgency and purpose.
Challenger Posted September 23 Posted September 23 Based on the first half hour, I would take a defeat here in exchange for this team being the preferred starting 11 from here on. 4

Whilst their reserves are still far better than us on paper, they’ve looked disjointed as a unit, not dissimilar to our own performance against Pompey. That said I’d probably give Quarshie or Wood, Jelly and AA a start against Boro. I agree but I still think this is a million miles better than the weekend. Had we played this team on Saturday I think we would have done better. 6

Obstacle1 Posted September 23 Posted September 23 I know he's not done anything spectacular but I like the look of Scienza, seems sharp and able to link up with others 3
adrian lord Posted September 23 Posted September 23 Whatever the ultimate result here, this has surely pointed the way forward for Will and Saints. 4
Saint Scott Posted September 23 Posted September 23 I've been really pleased with the pressing intensity tonight 4

Agreed. He's a big upgrade on Shoehorn Leghorn. Edited September 23 by Sheaf Saint 1
RedArmy Posted September 23 Posted September 23 McCarthy Jelert Wood Quarshie Manning Charles Jander Fellows Azaz Scienza Archer That’s the team I’d be picking for Saturday. 2
Wiggles31 Posted September 23 Posted September 23 Jander has been the best player on the pitch so far. 2
