We'll have L1 quality players before you know it.

Hmmmmm.
Now let me see.
I think you might be behind the times, S-Clarke.
SR is ahead of the curve: we’ve been recruiting (with some notable exceptions) for league 1 for a few years now.  Such foresight.

I think I may have solved our striker problem for the rest of the season...

Great to see him still going. I saw one of his earliest games for Norwich. Which is odd, because I'm definitely the same age, while he's now 50.

With the position we are in,we are going to be back last Jan where nobody wants to come to us if we are in a relegation fight!!!

We managed to sign someone on loan that couldn’t get into or improve the worst team in the league. Ridiculous.

Left sided centre back and defensive midfielder and a targetman striker..

The missing left footed centre back has been an issue for ages.

Sell a few including arma or archer.

Got to disagree with selling Adam Armstrong, why sell someone that is very good at this level?

Wouldn't swop him for a more clinical goalscoring targetman that doesn't need a dozen chances to score?

Looking at the league below for a potential goalscorer within out budget, there's a young 20 year old called D. Ballard who is joint 2nd top scorer in the league, could be a good one to come in and get on the end of some chances whilst having plenty of time ahead of him to develop.

Does anyone actually expect us to pick up a decent quality striker in January? Would be a tough ask even for a very well run club if we’re sitting well down the Championship table.

Would there be any point doing it? Could well be adrift of the play offs by then.

Best option would be a loan for a Premier League striker who needs the game time, there must be a few who would tick that box.

Not the type of player they are lacking though, not had a really proper hold up target man since Pelle. Adams did a decent job of it alongside Ings, struggled more as a primary goal scorer but that’s on the club for being twats. Something they’ve specialised in over several years.

Wood and THB, if the latter’s attitude is right, will be fine at CB. Don’t think we need a CDM if the 5 ATB nonsense is ditched. Keeper and target man are the absolute must sort outs, Ramsdale ain’t returning so buy the #1 for the next 3 years in the Champ who keeps up this season. That’s not either of the current two 🤡. Stewart is out of contract and surely even these morons won’t offer a new one, much harder to fill so more likely to be a loan in.

Nope, you’d swap him for the most ineffective striker therefore keeping your striking options as strong as possible

Awoniyi is still frozen out at Forest, could be available for a loan to buy deal.

Would solve our problems up front.

What about our proclivity to gift teams goals at the back?

I’d go for both of them, that way if one is a dud there’s a fall back option. Sell Archer, Stephens, Aribo, Edozie and loan out Downs to fund it.

1 league goal in 2 seasons, sounds about our sort of signing.

Be nice to buy someone in form.

It would but that’ll be from League 1. He’s higher grade than that but a risk when they haven’t played much. But beggars can’t be choosers.

We picked up Rickie Lambert in January and we were in the Third Division then. What a player he turned out to be .Is there another Rickie out there somewhere?

Crazy that people would turn their noses up at Awoniyi, not that he'd drop to our level anyway.

no we didn't we signed him in the summer and he made his debut in the league cup game the following week

We signed Fonte in the January, along with Puncheon and Lee Barnard, think we also got a couple of loans in.

Ah yes, I remember it well.  £1m I think it was and Bristol Rovers thought they turned us over.

Im really no expert but isn't it really tough to sell players in the jan market. Most are loans aren't they ? Gonna be really tough to get fees for those lot.

Haaland would be good, although didn't score in his last outing. Ekitike probably available once Isak starts firing but not sure he has the grit/steel/championship experience that we need.

You’re absolutely right of course, however loan to buy deals could be used. Spors needs to start earning his salary and get some tough deals done…not just the ‘easy’ ones, after all he’s supposedly the SME on that part of the business.

Yeo other clubs don’t seem interested to have any bother selling their dross to us. There must be a couple of other clubs out there like us that we can see coming

Maybe we show some ambition and put a £10 million bid in for Ross Stewart in Jan?
