The frustrating thing with Downs is he often makes good runs and find nice pocket of space…. It’s just everything else!

Full-time.

Another victory, but against a woeful side, and performance not holistically strong enough.

Guess this means Eckert gets the job, but it would be another gamble, not what we need.

For now, it's good momentum before a difficult run of games.

Another win. But will be interested in how a new manager will set this lot up convincingly. 2 win on the bounce.

With more bodies in midfield if he has anything about him.

A win.

Much improved than on Wednesday, a little bit more confidence and composure.

I still don't like the formation, we should have been controlling the game in the second half it was all very scrappy.

Scienza and Jander were very good.

Bazunu is a disaster.

There's your new manager sorted.

If we do take him on, I’m out, as that will be another season down the 💩

Win is a win. Played pretty well.

We did however, routinely give up the middle of the park, and we were playing comfortably the worst team in the league (who are in administration), at home, at the end of a 3 game week.

Did he do a little skip like Pleat that time. This is the image I have. Sad times.

Sills is making out this was a much better performance than it actually was.

You can only beat what's in front of you, but there was still so much to be concerned about in that today. We still panic and retreat into a disorganised defensive block when we take the lead. The formation is still causing the same problems - not enough control in midfield and too many defenders getting in each others' way.

Wonder why? Soaking up the adulation and winning mood I guess.

Bound to happen if you play 3 centre backs.

Good win. Not much to shout about once Scienza went off. Tougher tests will certainly follow but you can only beat what’s put in front of you!

COYS!

Hopefully this is where Romeu steps up...

Spots down in the dugout as the team comes off???

Fucking hell, we can't have that, Rasmus will be jealous and probably name himself in the team next time out. Probably in a back 6,safety in numbers and all that.

Entirely unconvincing but can’t moan at two wins in a week I guess.

Don’t even think about it though Spors. This managerial decision is huge, he’d better not fuck it up.

WHat is wrong with you lot on here?  Bar 10-15 minutes that was as comfortable as it gets and Saints played some wonderful, fluid attacking football and then managed the game well once we went 3-1 up.

We have 6 points from 2 games (for the first time in 19 months) and I admire Eckert for bringing Williams on at half time.  The easy thing to have done would have been to bring on the lazy, disinterested Aribo but he didn't.  And maybe it will give some hope to our U21s that maybe there is a pathway with him around.

Obviously pretty limited opposition, but for the first time in a very long time, it actually felt like we were relatively comfortable in a game at St Mary’s!

Wonderful? You’ve either supported us for 4 days or are easily pleased. I’ll save the wonderful plaudits for now cheers.

At home to the worst team in the division we just about did enough.

Only saw first half before stream went down but we seemed to be getting more players forward although defence dodgy.Azaz needs too much time on ball.

Felt it was disjointed for long spells, and once again we lost the plot after the subs.

However we were at least fairly clinical, which isn't something you could accuse us of this season to date.

The creative players seemed to have a bit more freedom to run at the opposition - but that could've just been because Wednesday are limited.

Two fairly 'meh' wins is probably the best we could've hoped for in this interim spell.

I can't omplain too much about a back to back win for the first time in ages.

We'd done enough to secure the win early in the second half. There wasn't much from either side after that. Certainly not after Leo went off.

Our first was a bit fortuitous, but we'd numbers in there to make it happen; our second was a nice first time shot from Azaz, after he took up a good AMC position; and AA was an excellent  run, control and finish. Delighted with all of that, even if the total number of efforts was low.

I did roll my eyes at the SR lineup again. But it was enough against a demoralised looking Wednesday. Although they had some decent passing moves later on, just lacking a final ball.

Baz let another low and to the left, and there was a Stephens muddle. On the plus side there was Leo, AA and Jander. Downs was actually involved in an attack. In fairness he also took up a couple of good positions only for the ball not to reach him.

That second win only takes us to 17th. So, that's how grim it was looking. Only 7 from those playoffs!

All the usual problems were still there today, difference was Sheffield Wednesday were so poor and we had that touch of luck (what a finish by Jander for the first goal!)

Very nice to see some goals and a winning feeling but if we're honest we look nowhere near a promotion team.

I think Ipswich will go up with Coventry but play offs could be anyone's
