Keeper may be our priority but the club clearly rate Bazunu, and with Ramsdale still on the books, I think there's zero chance of any movement there.... bugger.

Similar up front. Archer and Stewart will be expected to put pressure on Armstrong. Nobody sells a decent striker in January anyway. SR will keep their powder dry until the summer.

Going to be all about some players finally pissing off. They may go for a dominant CB or experienced full back. Wood has control of the centre of defence, which is good to see, but who replaces him if he is injured.

In what meaningful way is Ramsdale still on our books?

If Howe doesn't want him, he's back here in the summer whether he likes it or not. I fear we may be left, yet again, with someone who doesn't want to be here.

He is a premier league quality keeper. If we don’t go up, he will never play for saints again. He probably won’t even if we do go up

Him being under contract at Saints until 30th June 2028 and getting his wages from Saints.

And saints getting money from Newcastle to pay for it all.

Only until the end of this season, not 2028 when his contract expires

He won’t play for us again whilst we are I this league.

You know that, I know that. The real world knows that

The question you asked was...

"In what meaningful way is Ramsdale still on our books?"

Being under contract at Southampton until 2028 is meaningful.

You are probably right but there is a small bit of doubt. If Newcastle don’t sign him there is only a small pool of clubs who are likely to be interested at the prem level (or equivalent) and even fewer who would be willing to meet his wage demands/pay the level of fee we would expect.

I don’t expect to see Ramsdale back but we can’t wholly rule it out.

Now we have what seems to be a half competant manager, I'm relatively comfortable with the squad we have. I think I'd only really be looking at a number 10 as competition / back-up to Azaz - i.e a replacement for Aribo.

Ideally I'd like a keeper to come in - probably a loan as the Ramsdale situation has caused us issues.

I think we have a relatively decent balance up top, now we seem to have found a way to make A.A a complete striker. I'm keen to see what Downs could do under Tonda.

Main focus has to be on out's

Aribo & Edozie will hopefully find a club wanting to take them. Bree to Charlton permantly. Matsuki probably needs to go.
