ally_uk Posted Saturday at 12:17 Author Posted Saturday at 12:17 Okay chaps I told the A.I bollocks to find us a specific striker in the mould of Rickie Lambert, I.e someone from the lower leagues who could come in and do the job. I wanted good aerial and hold up skills and experience of scoring goals. Alasanna Jatta - Notts County, 58 games / 32 goals 6.4 I height, German. Lorent Tolaj - Plymouth ( 11 goals ) Isac Lidberg - Darmstadt 98 ( 16 games 11 goals ) ( Role: Centre-forward & main attacking outlet. Profile: Strong, physical striker comfortable with aerial duels and hold-up play. Frequently wins headers and is used as a focal point in attack. Scoring: Among the 2. Bundesliga’s top scorers this season (double-digit goals). Why he fits: Classic target-man mould — holds the ball, good in the air, and consistently finds the net at this level. ) Noel Futkeu - Greuther Furth 23 years old, Role: Main striker with physical edge. Attributes: Tall, strong in aerial challenges, and excellent at scoring from crosses/centering moves. Why he fits: Combines height + aerial prowess + consistent goals — very Lambert-like in style. Massimo Coda (Sampdoria) Profile: Classic target man — tall, strong, and often a team’s outlet for long balls and headers. Goals: Regularly among the top scorers in Serie B. Why he fits: Physical presence + aerial threat + goals. Any of the above stand out of could do a job ? Should all be realistic 1

Brumsaint Posted yesterday at 08:57 Posted yesterday at 08:57 Yousef Salech at Cardiff City - scored 8 goals in 20 for a relegated side last year and is now banging them in for them in league one (12 goals and 4 assists in 25). 6 ft 5 but not a bean pole - looks strong and has the pace to run beyond defenders. Only 23 and I'm surprised they held onto him after relegation. 3

Jovan Makama (21, 6'5'', already 12 goals this season in a poor side) at Norwich has shown recently that there can be value in the lower Leagues. It's not guaranteed though, especially when you factor in that we are Southampton Football Club. 😄

Fabrice29 Posted yesterday at 12:52 Posted yesterday at 12:52 Piroe is an interesting one because he plays in similar parts of the pitch as Armstrong which means he’ll drop deep and look to link play. I think we need a channel runner personally but he does have the traits to play that deep/link play that we like with the physical upgrades.

Convict Colony Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago (edited) Update - asked expert a.i to be sporting director of southampton who has a lot of experience in the Bundesliga and also in italy to identify and undervalued high potential CF we could buy. As Southampton's sporting director, drawing on my years scouting in the Bundesliga and Serie A, I've zeroed in on Igor Matanovic as our prime target. The 22-year-old Croatian striker (turns 23 in March) is at SC Freiburg in the Bundesliga, where he's carving out a role as a physical, hold-up forward after moving from Eintracht Frankfurt in summer 2025 for more minutes. Why him? At 6'4", he's a beast in the air and links play well, but he's got untapped finishing and movement—think a raw Harry Kane type with room to explode. Last season's loan spells showed flashes (decent goals in limited action), and this year he's chipping in amid Freiburg's mid-table grind, but he's undervalued because he's not a flashy name yet. Market value's around €4-5m, contract to 2028, so we could snag him for €3-4m plus add-ons if we move quick in January. High potential? Absolutely—young, adaptable, and my Bundesliga contacts rave about his work ethic. Fits our need for a budget gem who can develop into a starter or flip for profit. Skip the big-money risks; this is smart business. Edited 11 hours ago by Convict Colony 1

Exactly the sort of young player profile from the EFL that Saints should look at but never do. And it would be cheapish. Similar build to the Norwich young striker who bullied the Saints defence. 2
Whitey Grandad Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago 3 minutes ago, Convict Colony said: Ok an update my a.i says these dudes. Top Recommendation: Joel Piroe (Loan from Leeds United) Why him? Proven Championship beast with 79 goals in 173 league games, mostly at this level. He can lead the line or drop deeper, adding versatility Eckert's squad lacks. Limited minutes at Leeds post-promotion, so a loan makes sense—could fire Saints into contention without breaking the bank. Feasibility: Leeds might not love loaning to a rival, but his lack of goals this season (zero since summer) and international duties could open the door. No huge fee, just cover wages. Pros: Instant impact, knows the league, low risk. Cons: Competition from other clubs if Leeds shop him. If they snag Piroe, it's a no-brainer upgrade—experienced, clinical, and ready to slot in. Solid Buy Option: Morgan Guilavogui (Permanent from RC Lens) Why him? 27-year-old Guinea international with Bundesliga experience (6 goals in 25 games on loan at St. Pauli last season). He's physical, versatile across the front line, and Saints were sniffing around him in summer. Only 1 goal in 15 Ligue 1 apps this year, but mostly sub cameos—could thrive with regular starts. Feasibility: Saints have approached but balk at Lens' £3.5m ask—haggle it down to £2-3m? St. Pauli also interested, so move quick. Pros: Prime age, international pedigree, adds depth without huge wages. Cons: Unproven in England, low output this season might mean adaptation time. Good value if they negotiate; he's a long-term fix over aging backups. Budget Loan Shout: Tyrique George (Loan from Chelsea) Why him? Young Chelsea talent who's bagged in the Champions League (vs. Ajax) and League Cup (2 goals, 1 assist in 3 games). More of a wide forward, but could provide wing depth and goals if Saints tweak to a back four. Fits as a development loan to support inconsistent options like Cam Archer. Feasibility: Chelsea open to permanent or loan moves; Saints linked alongside Everton/Leeds, but Prem clubs might outbid. Cheap loan fee. Pros: High upside, fresh legs, no long-term commitment. Cons: Inexperienced at Championship level—risky for immediate promotion push. Great for squad rotation, but not your lead striker. Other Quick Hits from Rumors Yousuf Salech (Buy from Cardiff City): 23, joint-top League One scorer (12 goals) and 8 in 20 Championship games last year. Tall (6'5"), in-form target man—perfect contrast to Armstrong. £2-3m range? Solid if they want youth. Callum Wilson (Buy from West Ham😞 Vet with south coast ties (ex-Bournemouth), 4 goals this season but benched lately. Injury history is a red flag, but cheap experience for a short-term boost. He has been released so no fee needed. One has to ask why.
