With all the talk of points deductions and administration next season I imagine you’re right and he’s thinking fuck this. Can’t imagine a “philosophy” manager like Russ would be stupid enough to go anywhere near the place, it’ll probably be someone that’s used to working on a tight budget with average players until they get the club stable. That skate cunt Mousinho would probably be a shout. Edited Thursday at 14:02 by bpsaint
Willo of Whiteley Posted Thursday at 14:07 Posted Thursday at 14:07 They covered Leicester a bit on Total Saints Podcast last night, quite thoroughly too. Hardy Winks is out of contract, but Oliver Skipp for example has a contract until 2029. Some of those players had relegation clauses from the Premier League, but is it the same situation for Championship to League One? Not necessarily. They’ve just brought forward next seasons parachute payments and that has been almost taken as a loan with 8% interest. Basically they need cash flow and the need it quick. So if you offered a fiver for Fatawu for example they’d probably have to take it. They can’t afford to wait around. 1

Given what Steve said they are even starting life in League 1 on the back foot, maybe not minus points like us but unless someone comes in and buys them which I guess would be the best outcome for the fans, those in charge have to make some bloody difficult decisions and get them right. 1

He got an automatic 1 year added to his 3 year deal when they were promoted in 2024, so he's still there till 2027. Jannik will be sticking around too, he's on a decent chunk. But Skipp until 2029 is crazy, they'll have to move most of these on at cut price fees you'd have to think. I read something about their parachute payments too and apparently they've already 'used' next years final payment, believe it or not. They've rolled up all of their future income streams from transfer sales and next years parachute payments to fill in some loan payments/cover debt for 'now'. They are in an even worse situation than I thought, and it was already bad. 3

Borrowing is commonplace, right - we've done it and probably still do - Leicester's worry now is that their assets and income stream versus their now increasing outstanding loan debt, wage expenditure and maintenance costs will be crippling them. There's only one way this ends.

I tried to post the video but the site came up with an error.
Badger Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago Must admit I’m not too caught up in the ill will towards Leicester, especially after the rat faced cunt Vardy left. They’ve done this season what many on here feared we would, and the appointment of Still might have delivered. But there is one twat I’d like to see enjoy L1 next season. Or perhaps I should just “grow up”. 2
Badger Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago Received this today. Now surely L1 is enough punishment for them. 4

Willo of Whiteley Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago Leicester are an absolute basket case. They deserve a basket case manager 😂

But doubt Liam’s stock has fallen to L1 level yet, and he’s probably still on a good severance from Chelsea. I suspect they’ll try and poach the Lincoln manager. Bigger club etc, even if in a lower league.
HKsaint Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago RM needs Baz reunion. Which players from foxes should we swap for? 1

Willo of Whiteley Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago I honestly wouldn’t want any of their squad. Monga is ok but overrated because he’s English and young. If he was from anywhere else he’d be worth a fraction of what they’re currently valuing him at. Leicester are in the position where they need cash flow and will need to accept money coming in sooner than later. They might be forced to sell some or even given some players away to get them off the books.

I've seen the likes of Fatawu, Mavadidi, Thomas, Codova Reid, Ayew, Monga and Daka all have good games. But not recently. We'd need to lose players from our better squad, for any of them to get a look in. Just as long as we don't bring back Vestergaard as our Nostalgic Player of the Season, I'm happy. 1

We can then revisit this thread as a Christmas present.
Holmes_and_Watson Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago 12 hours ago, Badger said: Received this today. Now surely L1 is enough punishment for them. I thought Leicester was a much better fit for him than Rangers were. Now, it depends on who he has left to work with. I did read that in L1, Leicester will have a higher wage % to work under. Also that some players who have been there for years, but on high wages, would not form part of that %. It allows clubs dropping from the PL to not immediately breach rules, when they can't shift players fast enough. That may give Leicester a more stable squad to work with. Russ has been there before. And he got us promoted from the league above. He will also have an amazing PowerPoint presentation.

We should be all over that Vestergaard fella, with his electric pace he'd be ideal for the prem is Bertrand still there? Some of their academy products beyond Monga have shown promise and are not tarred with this relegation. There are some who have done well out on loan but as youngsters, would only consider them if we remain in the Championship. 1
