He just seems to be such a problem for CB's. Yep agree. It wasn't his best BUT you could see the effort and willingness. And before the goal, to take advantage of thier slow pass was excellent. Other teams have done it to Saints numerous times over the years, so nice to see the opposite! The goal was cracking too. 1
inspectorfrost Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Works hard as well Loved that moment in the 1st half when he chased down a lost cause towards the touchline and won us a free kick in a dangerous attacking position. Impressive goal, when he gets going he has got some pace. Just a constant nuisance for defenders, hope we can keep hold of him 1
Sheaf Saint Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago His finish last night was reminiscent of Shlong's in the semi final at Anfield. Great goal.
Give it to Ron Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago I have to admit that his goal surprised me in his pace and finish didn’t realise he had that ability. Loved that goal. 1
bobby_charles Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago (edited) Really couldn't understand the stick he was getting in the match thread, in my eyes he did everything he was bought into the side to do, hold up the ball allow us to break through the lines. Can't blame him for being manhandled with no consequences and the goal was a peach. Also the header was delightful shame we decided to play crossbar challenge but hey ho, onwards! saintant Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago He was really unlucky with the header that hit the bar. If that is a couple of inches lower it's up there with some of the great Ron Davies headed goals. 1

So often you see players get a great header chance and they just hit it straight at the keeper. But that one last night that hit the bar, and his late equaliser at WBA recently, show he puts a lot of thought and skill into them. Edited 3 hours ago by Sheaf Saint
kitch Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago I've never been able to figure out if he's fast or not, but last night showed me that he's like a train: Takes a while to get going, but once he's at full tilt there's not much nearby that will be faster.

I was shocked, i expected him to get caught and try and get fouled but his pace and finish was class. As others have said his header was good and his turn and volley drew a good save. 5 goals so far plus his all round play have been good. Can be frustrating at times but been a very good find, a lot of us were critical when he signed but he's proved us wrong. 1

I can't be bothered to go back and look for the posts, but there was some extreme bedwetting from a few posters. Admittedly he didn't have the greatest track record or pedigree, but it goes to show the importance of having the right profile of player in that position.
saintant Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Like every other player at the club his performances have improved largely due to excellent coaching led by Tonda Eckert. Is there a single player at the club who has regressed since he took the reigns? I can't think of anyone.
BARCELONASAINT Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago I must admit that I was absolutely baffled when we took him in loan. His parent club Mallorca could not get him out of the door quick enough and i had never seen him do anything of note when he did play for them...and i watch a lot of Spanish football. However i absolutely love the bloke because he gives everything and has done since day one. Total credit to the Saints staff who have been working with him to get his fitness levels up and Tonda that asks him to play a certain way. He really is fast becoming a bit of a cult hero. 1

Said it a few times on here - every player improves under Tonda Eckert.
