The best thing is the three points. The second best thing is shutting up fat Frank and looking at his stupid disappointed face.

If he’s fat there is no hope for me, I’d like to be as fat as him

Great result. Played resolutely and neutralised Coventry completely.

Now need to bring the same again against Norwich.

Played well and compact throughout. Downes starting to look like the player we had last time in the Championship.

What a result.

The penalty is perhaps the worst decision I’ve ever seen but well done for holding on.

I think it actually was. Trod on his ankle

It really is quite the difference to have a decent 'keeper.

It's a lot more than that. The return of Bree and the change to a back four are more important.

What a brilliant game, credit to both sides. Saints bossed that midfield and deserved the win.

Warriors all of them, onward and upward

How on earth are we the third highest scorers in the league?

If you add all the goals each team has scored this season we are third.

Alas, I've just consulted my inner wisdom, and it's telling me Coventry City 3 Saints 0.

Sorry 'bout that ☹️

your inners don't seem too wise.

We fought hard and well to get that win. A desire that's become more apparent recently.

Really solid defensively under a lot of pressure. Everyone played their part in getting in key tackles.

Azaz and Downes really stood out for me, giving us that strength in the spine. That helped the others to do well.

It's a shame Stewart wasn't available. Larin was out of puff before the switch. And Archer just isn't the player our system needs. Azaz tried to pick up some of that work, but he's needed elsewhere.

Pleased for Matsuki. He worked very hard. He didn't know much about the goal. But that's where he's trained to be, and it paid off, as we've seen before.

A tense bit of added time. But it was a penalty. Charles got done, not long after he came on. But,  like the others, got in some good tackles and passes too.

Really pleased for the win, that keeps us in contention.

My bad, must have missed that. Only saw the push!

Either way, what a fucking delight it has to have Peretz.

I don't want to hear "Eckert is tactically inept" next time we lose, that "Azaz is a passenger" because neither of those things are true and today proved that.  Nor do I think Azaz is the rebirth of Ronaldinho or Eckert is  second coming of Alex Ferguson, its about the moderation between the two.

That said those tactics, with that team  was spot on today - and Azaz is an absolutely quality number 10 WHO at times can be a bit of a passenger.  But when he's not he's a baller.

Every man played well today, even Archer did his bit.  Great performance and result.

Peretz MOTM.  Shout outs to pretty much everyone else but I did like the Bragg, Jander, Downes combo in midfield.  Oh and Bree is a very good RB in this league.

Would be better if we didn't concede as many as Blackburn or Oxford 😅

Was expecting to loose, would happily have taken a draw before kick off so chuffed with 3 points.

so good to see us playing for at the back again after wasting half a season on the 3 CB’s experiment and so good to finally have a goalkeeper who is actually half decent at his job!

Lovely!! I half expected to win this today.

It says a lot about the players and the manager that we graft to a win, away to the league leaders, in what was a must win game.

I'm loving Matsuki and this keeper.

COYR.

Incredible that they are 7 points clear. Still has a lot to answer for. Saints were absolutely outstanding today, massive statement win.

what a difference that, bree, a keeper, downes return to fitness/form and a striker have made.

Solid away performance, well setup and fought hard to win it. Never a penalty, steps across into Charles to initiate the contact, thankfully it didn't matter in the end.

I don’t agree. He stood on his foot. So unnecessary in that position. Just jockey and don’t give him a reason to go down.

to be fair, Cov created more than enough chances to win it, which is why they are miles clear, but it was our day.

I thought it was just really unlucky. no intent at all, not that that matters of course. a pen, but unlucky.

Yep, luck was ridden for sure, and Cov are a decent side.

Absolutely! Along with Flynn back on form, Stephens being solid and having decent proper CFs.

Not like he intended to. He made up for it with a fantastic tackle in the box later.

That was wonderful. I thought our passing was really good and enabled us to take pressure off on many occasions. Such a contrast to midweek. Defence and GK great. Everyone had a brilliant game.
