It certainly looks like its worth asking the lawyers if there's something here. 

Will Salt could walk out of this with an absolute wedge if he sue's for potential leak of personal information to a news paper without his knoweldge or good reason resulting in potential loss of future earnings due to damaged reputation which could impact his career. 

As a side point, in reality, is anyone going to care that he doen this? Its a rule only applied to the EFL - Had he worked for a PL side, it wouldn't be considered a rule breach.

They do for a compensation claim but it's not a prerequisite to a regulatory investigation or enforcement. Doesn't hurt to raise awareness.

Boro wouldn't have to pay anything. The breach is from the golf club / hotel. But they're all owned by Steve Gibson, so to hurt him personally would be sweet enough. 

I'd go as far as saying that any GDPR breach is significantly more significant as you're then touching on the law.

I’d be pretty confident the individual involved will have lots to complain about.

He could easily go to the police as it is a blatant breach of GDPR.

Must be pretty harrowing for the individual and his family too. Imagine the shit he must be currently going through.

Stuff like this has driven people to do pretty serious and horrific things. These pundits and media outlets don’t consider this at all.

You're absolutely right. If an organisation becomes aware of a potentially damaging data breach then they are obliged to report it to the ICO. And in a twist of delicious irony here, they must do it within 72 hours.

And it doesn't have to be the subject of the personal data that complains if they don't. Any concerned member of the public can raise the complaint.

The outcome of our offence shouldn't have been to give Boro the opportunity to win the biggest footballing prize in the world, given that it wasn't just them wronged. It should have been to ensure sporting integrity. By expelling us proclaiming sporting integrity, they've created their own sporting integrity mess should Boro win.

I don’t really care about Boro being in the final and I’m not praying for their downfall either. The whole situation was ours to lose. We were obviously in the wrong re: the spying, but they showed nous, played a blinder, and we played the idiot Parsons. Yes, it feels bent that they had connections that shaped the outcome, but if we’d had actual professionals at the helm we could’ve gotten away with it all. They’re laughing now like we were laughing. We’re just pawns to a bunch of rich blokes, and ours happened to be moronic.

I'm going to leave this here again. He DID go from 2nd to 5th, yes, but other teams really pushed hard. His stats are better than Edwards' over a longer time period, so I think people need to let it drop that Hellberg isn't a good manager, just my opinion based on the stats attached, I can't say whether Boro fans enjoyed his team more or not, I assume they did.

Tbf I thought they were one of the best sides we’ve played this season. They were really well coached.

If they had some strikers they’d be a top, top championship side.
