The club has already been very heavily punished and we supposedly have some very good lawyers on the case in regards to the FA investigation. Let’s hope so, but as I said before non of us thought we would be kicked out of the playoff final… or very few!
Pengi Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago One of the things I like about Tonda is how he got a tune out of Archer, Edozie, etc. when others have failed 1

Also snagging Peretz for a good price might mean we lower the asking price for Ramsdale, attracting more buyers etc

He didn't have the best season and his form certainly dipped at the end but an upgrade on him wouldn't be a priority for me, especially if Matsuki stays as well. The frustrating thing for me is that he seemed to change his game and try and add some variation - instead of taking on his man and getting to the byline to cross he seemed to cut inside too much. Stuff that - he's probably the best in the division at crossing so stick with that. Not sure if he'd been told to cut inside more but I don't think he's at his most effective when he does it. I think he tends to cut inside from too deep a position so just ends up in a non-dangerous position in midfield. Perhaps he needs to vary between getting to the by-line and putting over crosses or cutting in level with the edge of the penalty area and maybe getting a shot away or a hard ball towards the back post. I'm hopeful there is a lot more to come from him and feel he has more potential than Edozie.

Is there any indication that he would be willing to stay as back up keeper? We should be. If 'Project Baz' was all about signing potential and selling him on for a profit, then this summer is our last opportunity to get any kind of half decent fee for him before he becomes a free agent.

Archer scored 11 in half a season previously and Edozie scored 6 and looked dangerous before getting clobbered at Norwich two years ago.

Obviously we'd be royally fucked if Peretz gets an injury, but as a championship side, can't really ask for much more than that. As it happens, I think we'll shift Bazunu and get a new back up. Personally I don't want Bazunu at the club. He'd no doubt be on a high wage so let's get rid and stop shoving that money down the drain.

In Edozie's case I am not sure it was much of a tune. As my dear old man used to say when it was my turn to select the music in the car "that's not a tune, it's just noise." 1

Perhaps a season as third choice keeper doesn't do a young keeper any favours (not enough game time) so Wright will go out on loan again?

I suppose the benefit of having a backup like Long is that Wright could be third choice, but still be picked for cup games ahead of the more senior 2nd choice.

Tommy Mulgrew Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago Speculative mention of a new DD as CF for us, hopefully a huge improvement on our existing DD CF otherwise what is the point. Daryl Dike, available for free and known to Eckert. I’m not recommending, merely reporting a The72 article. His injury record reminds me of LND, though. https://the72.co.uk/2026/06/08/southampton-daryl-dike-west-brom-urged-to-sign/ Any of our Brummie posters watched him last season?

Has not shown himself to be a particularly prolific, is prone to injury and not that tall. Other than he’s free, not sure what he would contribute in terms of getting us to the auto’s - I think we need a bit better than Larin or Stewart rather than worse to really make that realistic.

Lighthouse Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago Was it Taylor the club made a really elaborate, special forces action thriller style video, just to announce he’d signed a one year extension? You're not signing him for £15m+ and a big salary unless he's going to be first choice. Looking at that league, I can only realistically see Leeds perhaps trying to get a new number one in, and possibly a promoted team, if Coventry can't make Rushworth's loan permanent. He'll probably end up being loaned out again. No idea how there could be any market for Bazunu, after being consistently rubbish for us and two successive rubbish loans. Who's buying him, and why? The only team stupid enough to pay money for him already owns him. Edited 3 hours ago by qwertyell
