I know they are in the Champions League but with Watkins left out today their 4 best/most influential players from last season are missing.

They need to invest quickly so if they really want THB I’d be holding out for every last penny, fuck em and their insulting offer !!

Watkins chasing the Saudi money?

That’s the problem with us we are way to happy to let a player go for a fair price .

We're not though. For all of SR's faults, one thing they have been brilliant at over recent years is extracting maximum fees out of player sales.

THB does not go for penny less than £30M GUARENTEED.

If they want him we should also DEMAND a 85% sell on clause of all the deal not just to profit

It’s laughable all this nonsense people come out with every window isn’t it. SR have sold well, we’re a championship club the best players generally end up getting moves, we’ve just got to make sure we get the most we can and spend it well.

No no no no. We are a joy to deal with as sell our players well below what like other clubs do

Harwood bellis' transfer fee is going up by the goal 😆🤣

We should absolutely be adding £5-10M after this.

A 10:0 would be great.  Oh, wait: it’s harder to play against 10 men.   😇

This really should be at least 6-0. I don't recall many worse opening games of the season, let alone for a "big team" / Europa League winner...

With an add on of each goal let in we get £50,000 from Villa

Villa look horrible, now 10 men down. No way THB would make a shred of difference to this team. I think even the Burnley team I saw huffing and puffing earlier would stick 5 past this lot on today's showing.

Would you be happy if we also sell scienza and jander for 20-25m .. we have got the squad for promotion .. unless it’s ridicolous money we shouldn’t even be considering selling

The point being that you’d say this when we’re selling players but wouldn’t expect us to pay ridiculous money when signing players. Football is a business, we buy and sell players for what we think is a reasonable price, depending on the specific conditions.

9-0 will be good. Are Villa really that bad?

If the reports on THB are actually true (i.e., cares a lot about the club and in 2 minds over the move), I wonder if this sort of performance will make him stick at saints... I mean, this 11 is relegation level and incredibly disjointed:

What reports about him being in two minds? He will be desperate to move to a champions league team.

Red card now for Villa :D

They become only the second team in Premier league history to concede 4, score and own goal and have a man sent off in the first half of a premier league game. Bet you can’t guess who the others is..::

Was on one of the post match interviews post stoke, can't remember if it was Tonda or Blackmore and tessem. Don't get me wrong, I think it's extremely unlikely that he'll turn down that move... But if he genuinely does care a lot about the club... And villa are this much of a mess, then it could happen (with Bowen levels of dedication). You would assume he's long gone.

This is what I'm confused about, because it seems like we all kind of agree that THB isn't that good in the Premier League and definitely not good enough for Villa and yet we seem to think he should go for big money?

The fee we signed him for reflected that we thought he was a future Premier League player and potential England player. That is in some doubt now

I think the fee for him reflects his importance to us in the Championship and getting us promoted, not what he is worth as an actual footballer or footballing asset.

Absolutely agree, £18M bid is fucking insulting for a player we signed for more than that. Saints should be holding out for £30M+ , if they want him enough will need to pay it , looks like they need defenders

Judging by how the service is ... she's working overtime and a half.

Nah, not his sister. The bars are run by Mimi Le Bonk. No Belgian beers and definitely no German or Italian ones, just French!

Archer going out on loan doesn't help at all.

Yes, it does

1) Gets a loan fee to be used elsewhere

2) Some (or all) of his wages paid for

3) Opens up a spot in the squad for a hopefully better player

Didn't think it would be possible to be priced out of a move for Tom Cannon.  Lucky escape for Preston.

Preston wanted a Cannon and got an Archer. I'm not sure that's how attacking fire power works...

Throw in Mings or Barkley and you got yourself a deal Unai son!

If they include Mings I would want another £5 million. One of the main factors in Villa's improvement in recent seasons is that he wasn't available

Yes guaranteed 25 and a sell on clause.

A sell-on clause is pretty much guaranteed, it is hard to find a transfer at this level for younger players that doesn't have one.

I’d imagine the final negotiations will go something like this…..

“60-40 to Raymond!”

“You’ve got yourself a deal Mr Bastard”
