stevematthews635 Posted Sunday at 18:38 Posted Sunday at 18:38 Looks like we dodged a bullet with him. Spors appears, on the whole, to be a massive upgrade on Wilcox and he and Tonda appear joined at the hip. Contrast that with how united fans feel about Wilcox.. . 4

All well and good saying this, but we got promoted with him being the main football man, right?

Lighthouse Posted Sunday at 19:24 Posted Sunday at 19:24 In the eleven years between Fergie’s retirement and Wilcox being appointed they’ve got through Moyes, LVG, Ole, Mourinho, Rangnick, ETH and RVN. Let’s not pretend it all went wrong when JW took over, that club as been rudderless for thirteen years. Egos with instagram followers control the dressing room. 6

He wants to be seen as the only good player in the team. He sprints around to no real effect so he looks like the hardest worker when what he's actually doing is costing the team their shape. What sort of a captain flops around on the floor, throws their arms up in the air at their own teammates and the ref multiple times a game. That defeated attitude in the rest of the team comes from somewhere. 3

Probably still easier to discuss the ones that weren’t so good that we spent money on that season. Edozie, Bazunu.. 1

Absolutely their team is shit in relation to how much they’ve spent. 2nd highest net spend last five years, wasted on average players Edited Sunday at 21:17 by Turkish

Was speaking to my Utd Supporting mates this afternoon, genuinely, which players in that starting 11 today, and subs who came on, would you take here? Mbeumo and Cunha of course, but how many wouldn’t you take, not Lammens, Dalot, Yoro, Heaven, Diallo, Santos, Zirkzee, Tielemens, Mount, Lacey, Martinez. As someone who grew up with Utd Dominating, it’s such a damning indictment of where they are, when as a fan of a team 6th in the league below Utd, you look at their squad and see at best, only a handful of players you’d debate about wanting in your own squad, let alone in our starting 11. 1

Credit where it’s due but Downes and Manning were no doubt players Martin identified and attracted. Doubt Wilcox would spend time looking at Championship players. Darren Mowbray was also part of the scouting set up at the time. 2

Yoro is one of the worst players I have ever seen in a United shirt. Beaten only perhaps by William Prunier

suewhistle Posted Sunday at 22:44 Posted Sunday at 22:44 Until today I hadn't seen any of Manchester United's games, but took the opportunity this evening to watch the highlights. My goodness, what an awful sloppy lackadaisical team. No cohesion, no effort, no defence. 2

I watched that whole match, they really are awful, the players just don't give a shit - new manager will get them a win or 2, then the same will happen. They remind me of 2005 relegation Saints.

Mr Saints Posted yesterday at 08:43 Posted yesterday at 08:43 Alex Crook giving it large on Talksport this morning slating Wilcox, using Wilcox's signing of Bazunu for 25mil as an example. Great example to use, considering the below: 1) Bazunu cost 12mil 2) Bazunu signed in 2022, Wilcox joined Saints in 2023. Nice work Crooky, maybe Wilcox is not the only one that is inept! 1 16
Saint NL Posted yesterday at 10:05 Posted yesterday at 10:05 This season might be the only chance we see both Manchester clubs get relegated. Ok it's a slim chance, but I have faith 1

Saintinnot Posted yesterday at 11:32 Posted yesterday at 11:32 Didn’t Wilcox agree to join us in December 2022 then had to wait until the summer to join us? His fingers were all over the Bazunu transfer 1

Long before Wilcox joined or had any background influence. 3
Ex Lion Tamer Posted yesterday at 15:59 Posted yesterday at 15:59 Bottom line: Wilcox came during our period of signing anyone from Man City in the belief they must be good, and we know the results were extremely mixed 1

Bazunu, Larios and Edozie were all signed under Joe Shield. Wilcox did sign THB and Charles from City , both of whom were succesful on the pitch and made a profit. He did, however sign Holgate and Fraser.

Fraser did make a good impact at the start of his loan. He was a low cost squad player, so I can see why they brought him back. Holgate had been told in no uncertain terms to play RussBall from the moment he arrived. Without a 5 yard passing option, his mind crumbled and he got caught out more than once. Had he hoofed it, Martin would have probably dropped him, just when he was trying to make a good impression. 🙂

Hull away provided a memorable last minute celebration. Holgate on the other hand…. Many said he was crap on signing, and he lived up to expectations, possibly exceeding them.

Harwood-Bellis and Charles (the others are Joe Shields signings from before Wilcox joined) That's got nothing to do with what I said. There was a period of time which spanned more than one DOF where we signed multiple players and a staff member from Man City. Some of them were good but several were not. There seemed to be a club level belief that recruiting from Man City was a good strategy in and of itself. We can potentially put Wilcox in the same bucket as Bazunu and Larios as poor City recruits, depending on how we rate his performance here and at United Edited 19 minutes ago by Ex Lion Tamer
