sfc4prem Posted 8 March, 2011 Share Posted 8 March, 2011 Let's hope we can finally pop Bournemouth's bubble on Saturday. Good solid win, average first half, good second. Unlucky Forte was denied a goal on his first league appearance for us. Shame that P'boro and Hudds won, but I'm certain that IF we play well, and near to our potential for the most part until the end of the season, we'll be in with a great shout for second place. Andy Durman Posted 8 March, 2011 Share Posted 8 March, 2011 Lets hope so. This comment disgusts me. Do we really need people like this in our forum. Pilkington is a fantastic player and I would to see him playing for Saints next season. We should not rely on the bad luck of others to achieve our goal. pap Posted 8 March, 2011 Share Posted 8 March, 2011 Good result. A small shame that Huddersfield picked up a win. I honestly don't think Brighton will be caught now. All about the 2nd promotion place. With this result, and the six-pointer at Dean Court, that's well within our reach - especially as we seem rather adept at putting little runs together. Liquidshokk Posted 8 March, 2011 Share Posted 8 March, 2011 Well we certainly turned it on second half! Wish barney got his hattrick as he deserved one. Felt for forte as had two brilliant chances hes unlikely to get again, think the pressure got to him. Never know wether to moan or praise Davis as he always gives plenty of reasons for both!! Dr Who? Posted 8 March, 2011 Share Posted 8 March, 2011 The Posh have really got it together at the back, i think that is 2 or 3 clean sheets in a row for them, which is unheard of, and going forward they look good. It is going to go all the way to the wire, but I am mostly worries about Peterborough out of all of them, and even MK Dons who are flying at the moment. Huddersfield are very lightweight away from home, and Bouremouth no matter what the result on Saturday I just feel have peaked very early and will run out of steam on the run in. Brighton.... well forget them now!!
Fitzhugh Fella Posted 8 March, 2011 Share Posted 8 March, 2011 Great win saints, bring on the cherries I am just back and I am sorry to deflate anyone who hasn’t been and thinks a 3-0 win is satisfactory but that first half we were absolutely dire – the worst I have seen for ages. We looked absolutely clueless and my confidence in Adkins is draining. 2nd half obviously a bit better because we put the ball in the net twice and gained an element of control but that was only because Yeovil were awful. We were far better at Walsall last week – believe me. I am going to Bournemouth but we are going to perform a lot better to get anything.

We were pretty dire on Saturday in the first half, we really do seem to be a second half team for some reason. I look at it like this, we are playing poorly but still winning, and with the team we have we are going to hit form and start playing well between now and the end of the season, and I think we will start blowing teams away. We have the talent there no doubt about it.

We were fine, a bit sloppy in the first half but we were never in any danger of losing the game once we took the lead. We took more of a control in the 2nd half and the change in formation seemed to help us a little. A 3-0 is satisfactory and with Bournemouth also losing, it's a great night for us. We will play better at Bournemouth, don't panic.

Um Bongo Posted 8 March, 2011 Share Posted 8 March, 2011 Sat in Block 9 for this one, the amount of moaning was unreal. Even at 3-0 up, people getting on the players backs and having a pop. The Northam might be full of morons (Me included) but at least they support the team. A win is a win, a win on Saturday and we're looking good. We need to stay behind the team, not every game will be so straightforward! It was a funny atmosphere and I'm sure the players felt it. I think everyone turned up tonight and expected us to trounce them 6-0 and play them off the park. Anything else was greeted with a groan. A little realism and perspective is needed by a large portion of our fan base at times.
