Plymouth V Saints 1-3 Promo Chat!

SOTONS EAST SIDE

Recommended Posts

Fantastic, I cannot believe it after the start we had, and the run Huddersfield have been on. Can we have a joint club record with 6 straight wins come Saturday making the first game of the season record breaking!!

I tell you what Walsall will be happy with today's score!!

Absolutely fantastic, it was expected at the start of the season but the start seriously handicapped us.

The run of form which has taken us into second has been astonishing and something I've never experienced as a Southampton fan.

Saturday cannot come soon enough, I'm absolutely ecstatic. Best day as a Saints fan for years.

Totally thrilled. Well done Nigel, NC, the players and all coaches and back room staff.

The manager has really installed a winning mentality at SMS, winning week-in-week-out, even when not playing well. What a run in we have had over the past few months!

See you all in the Championship!!! UP THE SAINTS!!!!!!!

I was sure we would draw one of Brentford and Plymouth, so to smash both games and to go up under our own steam is brilliant. The boys have worked so hard this season but it would be good to get one last win and break into the ninety points, the boys can then go on holiday and NA can go shopping.

Brilliant. Fantastic. Amazing.

Can't really put it into words. My constant Saints pessimism has constantly been blown out of the water by this group of players, even when we've had some pretty nasty injuries. Absolute respect to Adkins and the staff, as well as the players.

Just have a huge sense relief.

Thank you Markus & Nicola.

COME ON YOU REDS.

I've watched the video (thanks Um Bongo)- every one at the club, players, manager, fans seem to believe that we have been promoted - just curious... has that complete knob Blackmore at Solent finally accepted that a win at Plymouth will give us promotion or is he still waiting for the P to go on to the table after Huddersfield have not won by 19 clear goals on Saturday.

Oh christ, what a feeling, how glad am I that we didnt have to leave it til a last-game nailbiter. Saint Lard, you arent alone, and thanks Um Bongo for posting the highlights. I had to work today, if anybody in Sparsholt nearly clipped a grey sprinter van when it veered across the road around 5'ish please accept my apologies. get in you f*cking beauties and bring on the championship!!!

Okay, I've been making a mental list of the good things about promotion, appart from the obvious of being a League up. In no particular order.

1 - No more round 1 and 2 of the FA Cup against Shrewsbury in front of 7,000 fans at SMS.

2 - No more Paint Pot. Good to win it, but after that the novelty wears off and it's a distraction.

3 - A real South Coast Derby for a change.

4 - Attracting better players. We could bring in a couple more Lamberts and Fontes, instead of Fortes and N'Guessans.

5 - Not having the whole League think we're arrogant, just because we think we're too big for League 1. We are, end off. So are/were Leeds, Norwich, Wednesday and Forrest when they were/are in it.

6 - Not having the pressure to win the League.

7 - Not having EVERY manager we've just beaten saying "They've spent lots of money, far more than we can afford, they should be at the top of the League"

Well done to all at Southampton FC. The last 2 seasons have been great, long may it continue. Well done to Nigel Adkins, with a nod to Alan Pardew (whatever the reason for leaving, it should be remembered that the bulk of this team is his).

Thankyou to Nicola & Marcus, without whom none of this would have been possible.

Whee! The other week I was tempting fate by asking when the first Championship fixtures were so that I could make sure I was in the UK. Might have to stay a little longer than expected but who's complaining!

Had to work today at school and then a private lesson when I got home. I'm afraid she didn't get my full attention at first as I kept glancing at the 'puter but at 3-0 even I, a hardened and experienced Saints cynic and worrier, stopped worrying and relaxed. Now on one of my last two bottles of Young's bitter.

Enjoy Walsall, all of you! I did plan to come over at the start of the season - I thought it would be an important match - but maybe not quite such a relaxed affair... Can't make it now but the Saints diaspora continue to support through thin and thick!

If only there could be an internet feed: please someone.

This I have to agree with.
