It's the day we officially link up with the aap3 sponsorship, probably no more than that, coupled with the hopes of the manager for the coming season.

agree....just spoon feeding the masses....most clubs will be doing press conferences soon talking cliches and utter crap

It's quite rare for us to actually have a press conference though. It'll be nice to hear something, ANYTHING from the club and will give us something to do other then speculate and bicker.... (well, ok, that'll continue...)

They'll be announcing that players are bakc in training, you can sign up to pre order the new kit, no one is going anywhere (that is until Arsenal offer £10m straight and Oxo throws a tizz) and we are looking to strengthen but won't be pressured in to overpaying.

TBF they are not going to say anything sensitive, scandalous or confidential.

I think this is probably spot on but who IS Jordan Sibley?

It's just the normal ''back from holidays, and into pre-season'' press call.

It'll be a case of talking about the hopes for the season, how the players look after the summer, what the pre-season plans are like.....and if any transfers are imminent.

Maybe it will be to announce that Skacel has signed

Do you remember in 2006 when this joke was actually funny? Ah, good times.

Being 1st July we could well announce the signing of someone on a free, who's contract expires at the end of June. My gut feeling is it will just be the usual routine about the new season. We're keeping our best players, we are looking into the transfer market. We are taking preparations seriously, everyone is very optimistic etc. etc.

Will be a case of adkins bingo, mixing the coy with the cliche. No doubt one or more of the following stone wallers will come up:

We're working hard behind the scenes to get things done.

Its one of them, the best things are kept as private as possible.

Its important who we bring in, that its the right person, not just somebody for the sake of doing it.

Is that right? I've not read that one.

You know more than me, then.

We've got a good strong squad of players in the building at this moment in time and we always talk about getting the best out of the players we've got. Together as one.

He's a Doncaster player. Full stop.

There will be speculation and we've got to make sure that we control that to a level to allow the player to flourish

He's one of our players. He's got a smile on his face. He's working hard. We're looking forward to him scoring more goals for southampton.

That's the beauty of football, that's the drama of it, the speculation goes on. Its great. That's what makes football go around.

And that's it! Probably will end up being word for word tbf...

Perhaps they will announce that the 72% increase in the ST price for some of their most loyal punters was a big mistake and they have decided to scrap it on the very day that tickets are released??

(Sh#t I've just woken up, I must have been dreaming) !!

I.m an existing STH, but I.m waiting to see how much we STRENGHTHEN the Squad for the CCC before I commit to my increased Ticket, and to see if we are still playing in Red and White

I just don't understand Cortes's logic sometimes. (mainly between Jan 1st and 31st Dec)

It was a huge mistake that will come back and haunt the club in the future. Talking to many senior long term fans that have been "culled" like me I have never heard such ill will towards the Saints but they will never admit they were wrong so that is the end of it.

When Cortese and co sell the club at a big profit, which is undoubted the plan, maybe we will all return. Until then we will have to watch things develop at a distance. I can hear the abuse already coming my way from some younger posters but that is normal for this site as you are not allowed to have a different view without suffering some form of bile. That I will not miss.

So you are going to flat out stop going to ANY games, at all, on the basis that Saints put up season ticket prices (which was totally expected) in line with the promotion the championship, that we all wanted.

Really? Some people get their noses nocked out of joint so easily. Actually feel sorry for you. "Cortesse has offended my wallet". Brilliant.

Oh dear oh dear, what was that all about? We've just had a great season, the club are on the up and all can do is moan - get a life. Cortese has been proved right - so far. Football is about strong management and money, get used to it, unless you want permanent league one football, in which case Bournemouth is the club for you - most of us are ambitious here.....In any sport, the higher you go the more it costs........Fact of life....

As older fan I totally agree with Andoverian.

By the way you may not agree with him but there is no need to be so rude he does have a point
