Just brilliant again.

The possession football, link-up play, stamina and desire were outstanding.

Only minor negative was the dodgy clearing from set-pieces, but we still maintained a clean sheet.

Staying up and the future is bright!

As one of the brave few who suggested Adkins wasn't up to managing in the premier league and was delighted by his sacking, I would like to think that this win has vindicated my viewpoint. We are on fire and starting to play with the belief and consistency that Adkins was incapable of getting out of the players.

Superb, JRod and Rickie were excellent. thought Maya (again) and Shaw were very good as well

jos had a Bambi on Ice first half but got away with it, Ramirez again very frustrating

Staying up, all you can say

Keep this team together next season and one or two of real quality and we ought to be a fine side next year

What a difference there is in Jay, superb performance again.

Afraid I love Boruc all the more now , some key saves and is such a character, love the juggling.

Showed respect to Nige, drew a thin blue line under it and showed we have moved on, amazing support today.

We are Southampton, we are premier league :)

Apart from the first half hour, a good dominating performance.

Don't think the Reading team that NA put out was capable of a shock though. Seems to be a reason Le Fondre was preferred as a bench option by McDermott.

I agree with trousers; we probably are safe now. It'd take a massive collapse in form or a huge injury crisis for us not to be safe, not to mention some impressive form from other teams. I won't be opening the champers until it's mathematical though.

Safety was all but confirmed after beating Chelsea, but now it's certain IMO. Excellent performance, even though I missed a lot of the second half. It seemed we were in complete control.

Rodriguez is on fire. His, Lamberts and Gaston's link up play was brilliant at times.

Yaaaaaaaay

Good win, decent performance against a bad side. Reading tried to play us at our own game but when it came down to it we had more quality.

Adkins is going to have to renovate their squad if they want to get promoted next season.

Rodriguez MOtM

First half was a bit nervy but we were so dominant in the second half. We look anything but a relegation-threatened side at the moment.

J-Rod my MOTM, closely followed by Davis who had a very good game but wasted a glorious chance to put us 2-0 up early in the second half.

Great to see AL come on and get a goal, it was an obvious sub because Gaston was so poor today. We look like such a better team when he isn't playing.

One more win will see us mathematically safe I reckon. Can't see Villa getting a win away at Stoke today so hopefully the 7-point gap will be maintained. There are far worse teams below us now so only a spectacular collapse in form over the last 6 games will see us down.

Rode our luck a bit in the first 20 mins. Jos was lucky with the penalty decision, it would have been a different game had it been given.

Took control more and more as the game went on. Should have scored at least 4 or 5, not just the 2 we put away.

We really do need to sign Boruc up long term. The more I see of him the more I like him. Great game today. Loved his juggling.

Steve Davis also had a very good game today, but my MoM goes to J-Rod. He just gets better and better.
