One of Millwall's goals went straight through him tonight. Just as Stoke were playing well. My Stoke supporting mate in disbelief. Said it was Bizarre. Cheers Gav.

Sounds like Baz was unlucky again. How many black cats has this bloke run over!

The bloke is an absolute catastrophe of a goalkeeper and really shouldn't be at such a high level. The fact we gave him so many chances in this league and the PL is such an embarrassment of the clubs judgement. I hope they see sense, but I do still get very vivid nightmares of him rocking up again in pre-season.

I saw a funny comment regarding him on twitter.

''He's one of these annoying modern types of goalkeeper who is good at football, apart from goalkeeping''

On the Stoke forum someone posted this today. I thought it was very apt...

"I asked my mate who is a saints season ticket holder to tell me about Bazunu, three words, he said would sum him up perfectly, those three words….he’s fucking shit!! 🙄"

Can we give him to Pompey, like as a gift?

Agreed.  As a show of solidarity and cameraderie we'll give him to them and provided he plays every game for them I think we could pay his wages.

I wonder how they'll feel playing in the Isthmian League?

Hideous, plus Stoke's defence looks awful - PTSD from the start of our season with him in goal and a defence all over the place. The near empty stadium was telling too.

I thought the fact that he didn't even move for the first goal was bad enough, but that second... Words fail me 🤦

He's still fucking up our promotion chances despite being out on loan.

This was my fav from the Stoke forum

“That analysis suggests he’s the worst goalkeeper ever at stopping shots. I remember reading this at the time thinking it can’t be true, but it is“

Yes, it is fucking true…

City genuinely took a midfielder, put some gloves on him and said "here you go, a keeper. £10million please".

For the second goal he looked like an outfield player who'd had to go in goal because the real keeper had been sent off. He just flapped at the ball and pretty sure he completely missed it. Should have been a routine tip over the bar.

He is consistently the worst keeper in every league he plays in that is not a 3rd tier

What makes me laugh is Stoke fans are now absolutely unanimous in their view that he’s one of the worst keepers they’ve ever had at the club , and they’ve only had to watch about 4-5 games to come to that landslide conclusion among their fan base:  whereas some of our fans were still sticking up for him after 4 years of us enduring the same level of performance. Probably the same fans who gave the team a standing ovation during our 22/23 season when relegation was confirmed with one of the most Half arsed performances ever at home to Fulham. Staggering stuff

Reminded me of @L1Minus10 and Glen’s Baz the Hologram analogy from the Oxford debacle on Boxing Day.

I can’t see any other EFL club wanting him so unless we go up and pay him off for the final year of fraud, I’m guessing he will be in the George Long role next season. Which means there’s still a chance we could see him in goal again for Saints, which is horrific.

He'd probably make a good lower league striker, ironically.

Hopefully behind Peretz and Ramsdale - the Woggy Taylor role beckons, though he'd probably put the reds in with the whites in the washing machine and bollocks up the kit!

The sad thing is that he is a club financial asset, I think he cost 10m that will be written off as surely we wont get £1m for him. I feel sorry for him but I wouldnt want him in goal for us ever again. He nearly cost us promotion under Martin, who was lucky that he got injured and had to put Macca in. Macca improved our defence and helped us get promotion (although not sure if that was a  good thing in hindsight!!)

£10m won’t be written off though. His book value is probably nothing, or about £1-2m given how long he has been here.

what is for sure, we won’t be getting much profit on his current value to the books, given how shit he is. We will need to sell someone big in the summer should we not got up.

I don’t know if you noticed but it was a quite brilliant shot it just managed to change path as it got to Baz who had anticipated the shot following the trajectory that it would 999,999 out of 1m times. All credit to the striker he must have practised the shot for years to be able to pull it off so perfectly to put the perfect mix of power, spin and whip on it to change direction at the optimal moment to fool Baz. I don’t think the strikers getting enough credit for him moment o our magic, lazy to put it down as a goalkeeping howler

I’ve just had a look at it again. If he had saved it then it would have been in the Gordon Banks / Pele category. It was headed down to his left and hit the ground just in front of him.

If you expect any goalkeeper to routinely save those then you are going to be disappointed.

There are t too many defending him after a handful of games, we had people doing that after putting up with the clown for 3 years.

This bloke sums it up.

That's the thing about Bazunu, though. He's not making 'mistakes'. He just doesn't have any ability.

It’s not just his failure to stop shots, the defence in front of him are also completely in disarray, presumably because he doesnt organise them, nor does he inspire any confidence in them. Taylor-Harwood Bellis has an England international cap, and is a great defender at this level, but he looked all at sea when Bazunu is in goal.

Look at Bazunu's positioning yesterday for all three of Millwall's goals yesterday. He never looks close to saving any of them, and looks terrified whenever the opposition get near him.

My advice to him is to save his money wisely for re-training into a new career once his contract is up next summer. Last night has hammered home within the football world about how dreadful he is, it’s far from just Saints. His spell in Belgium was dreadful as well.

He might get a financial disaster EFL club but otherwise he’ll be out of the professional game at any level by 26/27 yo. He’s got enough money to start a business/learn a trade or do a degree so he has options.

He’ll make a decent living out of football if he wants. My son in law played a handful of league one games and is still earning decent money, over 70k a year at 32. Some good money lower down the pyramid, some coaching at youth level, and a couple of bits with a half term camp sort of thing. He was nowhere near the level Baz played at, but is dedicated to not get a “proper job”. I guess the difference is how badly does Baz want to stay in the game, will he play step 2 or 3, or do one to one training with some spotty kid, move abroad, maybe get into being a goalkeeping agent. His CV is far better than some other blokes making a living outside the top 4 leagues.

Well that's me - and I genuinely and honestly say from the age of 15 to 45 playing in goal behind some bad defences over the many years I never, ever, let in a goal like that second, truthfully, and I was crap obviously.

There is a role for him being 3rd choice none playing goalkeeper at a big club. A Richard Wright, Stuart Taylor type figure who helps the proper keepers train, will never play apart from maybe the odd league cup game at home to Salford or Barrow when they’ll win 8-0 and not have to do anything. He’ll probably manage to get 10-12 years worth of a career out of that. It’s the best he’ll do no one above league one will want him, he’ll end up being a trivia question in the future which keeper has the most international caps despite being rated as the worst ever Premier league and championship goalkeeper. You never know it might be asked on tipping point to a Saints fan and they win a couple of hundred quid because of it. Every cloud and all that
