I bet and hope  the shirt actually looks really nice when launched (from the front), if the so called rumours are true it’s just the back that lets it down if all white, if it’s anything like the knock off ones , they look awful quality then that’s a shame, fingers crossed I can cope with it.

Let’s not forget P & O are the charmers who sacked 800 staff by text overnight in order to replace them with basically slave labour.

Their moral compass ain’t all that tbh.

That was my first thought too. I’m sure we won’t be the last to make that mistake.

Happy new kit day, I wonder what it will look like…

I met someone at the pub last night who claimed to be a senior figure within the club.

Don't flame me if I'm wrong but he told me that it will be a close replica of the 1978 home kit.  He also told me that P&O Cruises will be the new main sponsor, but didn't appear to realise that the news was made public earlier in the day.  Still, I guess that proves that he is credible so let's watch this space...

Hopefully there’s a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow to fund our promotion push?

No, this rainbow sash wraps all the way round the shirt and finishes just above the arsehole. Make of that what you will.

I’d delay any launch today with the Jota news

Terrible news about Jota but releasing a new kit is completely unconnected.  Surely no one is seriously going to take offence, and why would they?

You’re probably right. Just feels a little crass.

How?

Well, you see, the thing about feelings is that they are highly subjective. That’s not to say I am engaging in a sort of moral relativism, just to note how one’s disposition and value system aligns with how such things are expressed. I think maybe it’s a little crass, most probably disagree. Isn’t it wonderful to live in and of a world in which we are free to both express our views and practice an element of emotional autonomy.

I like it , I think it means we will win the league now with this kit

Well we've been promoted in it before 😂

(Cue MLG telling me its not exactly the same kit)

£65! Wasn't going to buy it anyway but come on!

And they wonder why people buy from Chinese websites instead

I have to say that I don't blame them anymore.

That's a lot of money to get laughed at whilst walking down the street. 😅

Drove past St Mary’s this morning and the boards above the megastore were still the ones with last seasons kit.

Seems a bit strange that they weren’t stripped before both our contract with rollbit ended (free advertisement) and our new kits being available to buy.

Not a fan on first viewing... P&O logo, the weird red shoulder triangles and stipes down the arms, and the two shades of red - all combine to make it pretty garish tbh. Stripes also the wrong width compared to the original.

Maybe it will look a lot better as a full kit or I'll just generally warm to it. Either way, it's £65 so no loss really 😂

Bit my tongue to make sure the leaks were accurate, but it's an absolute dog.

Not a particularly accurate take on the original kit, nor a decent modern reimagining. And what the hell are the two different reds all about?!

The P&O sponsor has been done poorly; that black stroke around it is too thick - and it's unfortunately just not an aesthetically pleasing logo for the centre of a kit. Starling has tended to look much better on the women's kits, but of course they've given that the 'block of white' treatment.

Can see it being a particularly unflattering shirt on overweight fantasist blokes, to boot.

Was also going to 'sad face' comment about Stephens being so heavily included in the promo shots, but then JWP was for the 23-24 kit launch, so... 🤞

Positives: good to see such an iconic Saints kit get a reboot and good that the club badge is more in proportion than the one on the Chinese effort.

Negatives: the black border around the logo is too thick, which makes it look a bit amateurish; having two different reds is totally bizarre: why would it even occur to someone that was an idea worthy of consideration, let alone implementation? And the triangles on the shoulder make the design as a whole look a tad higgledy-piggledy rather than slick.

But... "It's only a kit" so doesn't really matter....

Nobody is saying you aren't allowed to feel it's crass, put your pearls down

So it was two different reds.

Mad that anyone responsible for signing off the design could see that and think it was alright.

The overall concept is great and with a tiny bit of thought it could have been a classic, but the whole design and execution of the sleeves is just so shit.

I can't believe how hard they make it look to design a football kit every season. It's such a basic thing to be able to get right, half the people on here can do it perfectly well.

Ah well. If we win in it no-one will care. But so near and yet so far.

Sponsor looks cheap, does the black outline need to be that thick? Still it could be worse, the women's starling bank sponsor looks horrific.

The kit itself is okay, but not a fan of the all white back. Meh

They couldn't have made that look any more tinpot if they'd tried! Why not repeat what they did with the Starling logo previously..?
