If Ramsdale leaves for Sunderland then I'll be pretty disappointed if it's a loan. We need to get or goalkeeping options sorted ASAP though as it's a really key poisition.

Not a lot we can do until someone makes an actual suitable bid for Ramsdale. Until then, we just have to continue as though he will be here for the season, obviously touching base with any potential replacements and their clubs. If he has a release clause, then we can't even say no to a late bid.

You would hope that behind closed doors he will be open and honest with us. He seems like a good lad so hopefully wouldn't screw us over.

Sure, he will no doubt have told Still he wants to be in the PL, but will be professional until a move happens, but he can't do anything unless a buyer comes in with a suitable bid either. It's not an unusual situation. We will just have to continue on, try and keep a few options in the air and then be very responsive should we get appropriate offers for our stars.

I have to say I find it a little strange that Benarek is reported to have a "low buy out clause" and is "in demand" yet here we are 10th July and not a single rumour about a move. One of those two things can't be true...unless of course Jan doesn't fancy going to the clubs interested in him.

Release clauses can state that they only apply up until a certain date in a transfer window. That prevents clubs being left in the lurch from losing a player late in a window.

With Ramsdale almost certain to leave and news coming out confirming that, any chance we could get Patterson and some cash in from Sunderland for Ramsdale?

Cue the announcement of Bazunu signing a new contract !

If he does, I wonder what new signing they'll try and hide it behind this time...? ;)

Gives Forest a lot of money for creative midfielders…

Elanga cash available too...

They were linked with Fernandes previously by a decent source if I call (maybe John Percy) and are being bumped up to Europa League.

Unfortunately the idea of being able to keep someone of his ability (and the likes of Ramsdale and Dibling) is just so unlikely.

At least this summer we should be able to bring in a sizeable amount of cash on top of what has alrwady been generated so hopefully could get a couple more good signings on top of Quarshie and Downs to add to the base of pretty solid players we have for this level.

Even with expected departures we will have a very strong Championship squad come September.

Seriously doubt Ramsdale would sign for Sunderland tbh.  He'd be on another hiding to nothing and almost certainly have another relegation to deal with.  Given James Trafford got into the squad ahead of him last season you'd think he'd be better off performing well in a top championship team rather than a bottom premiership team.

Think he'd want a West Ham level team minimum to move

Will we. Without a top equity replacement we wi be seriously short of creativity in midfield. Even more so when Dibling goes as well.

Bet the club are thinking Robinson will be the next one. I do think he looks very promising but don’t want to put too much pressure on him.

I'd be shocked if they weren't in for Fernandes now. At least we can charge top dollar. He's on a long contract and we know Forest are flush after two big sales.

Agree but problem is that circumstances can change rapidly. For example:

7th August - Ramsdale says he’s not looking to leave, and will definitely stay the season

25th August (date taken at random) - Pickford (again at random) announced as having broken his leg, probably out for season.

26th August - Everton make bid…

Where would that leave everyone?

Sounds like things are moving ahead now anyway so we should get some certainty.

Last promotion team, based on most mins played was

Manager RM (v Still)

Bazunu

Walker-peters (v

Bednarek

THB

Manning

stu (v Fernandes, )

Smallbone

Downes

Adam A

Che (Downs, BreretonDiaz, Stewart,

Fraser

Plus Dibling, Shea Charles, Archer, Edwards, wood, Sugawara, wellington, Quarshie, Aribo, Edozie

They have already said they want a creative midfielder.

I would expect if Ramsdale, Dibling and Fernandes go significant money will be spent.

I think we will be stronger

Not just saying this because I'm biased. I genuinely think if I were Ramsdale I'd probably stay if offered 100k and if my alternative was the likes of Sunderland. The chance to potentially win the league and be a bit of a hero seeing some success instead of another relegation. If someone like West ham came in for me then maybe I'd go but otherwise I don't see the point personally.

I must have missed this, but what news has there been other than a media link to Sunderland ?

Rohl has blown it. The Sheffield Weds players have voted against him returning. Poor guy has really fucked this up.

Don’t worry, he’ll get out of Sheff Weds in a few weeks if not before, and if we don’t get off to a flyer ( and especially if we don’t beat Pompey in September) his name will remain in the background.

Alfie house said it feels like an inevitability and there's an article today saying he's told us he wants to leave.

Okay, thanks.

No real surprise. I suppose it hinges on whether he wants to leave (for the sake of leaving, which might mean Sunderland or the like), or leaving for somewhere he wants (perhaps West Ham or similar).

Can’t blame him for wanting out, just hope* it’s sorted quickly at at the right £

* and that we don’t think Bazunu should step back in

Doesn't he want to have the vegan food at FGR? About his level. (If none of you have got it before, I've never been a fan).

Well, they supposedly want a right-sided attacker & an AMC.

Eze and the Madueke have been reported to be of interest. They are also after Gyokeres, so don’t think there would be room for Dibling.

Why is that bad? I assumed he would go. Arsenal are one of a few who could maybe afford the price.

I would be surprised if Arsenal went for him at this stage. Seems from their business so far they are going for more proven players, I think after 2 years of being runners up they are prepared to splash the cash on players who can get them over the line. Not sure that’s Dibling yet.

It obviously isn’t but I’m sure they would like him on the bench

Norwich are spending a lot and, on paper, look to be a contender for at least the playoffs. They look to be spending well ahead of Sargent and Sainz going. One to watch under Manning.

Dipping into the Scandinavian market payed off with Pukki as well and it seems that they fought off Ligue 1 and apparently UCL competition with Kvistgaarden

they want Madueke, but won't pay the £60m Chelsea want, so they'll pretend to look elsewhere.

I think they want to rebuild their entire attack. Both wings, attacking mid & striker

Would be the death knell for his career. In his position on the RW they have Saka, Nwaneri, and they're about to sign Madueke. In the 10, they have Odegaard, Havertz, Nwaneri might end up there eventually, and have already committed to wunderkind Max Dowman (15) being in the first team squad next season.

Doesn't ring true to me.

Our price is going to scare teams off. We need to be careful of setting it too high though, if he doesn't sign a new contract he could walk at some point for buttons.

If we had signed Kvistgaarden this forum would have been criticising signing a young player from a league that isn't exactly a top standard. Yet another team does similar to us buying a young striker from a 'grade 2' league and its a good move.

The only thing I’ve read about him is that Celtic were following him and bidding last January.

Aston Villa could be an option

I know he hasn't left yet, but Emi Martinez essentially already said his goodbyes at the end of last season.

Their back up in Robin Olsen has left too, heading back to Malmo
