Likely implication for Edozie sale. Supposedly he had chosen Brugge over Strasbourg but they are signing their alternative target.

It appears he plays on the left and he plays on the right, so if rumours are true he makes Messi look shite then that's bad news for young Samuel

Amazing how much more aggressive Sunderland in particular have been in the transfer market than what we did last summer. Will be interesting to see how they get on in particular.

I see a lot of the table predictions have Leeds to stay up but the expense of West Ham or Wolves but not really sure that is based on much, they haven't made any particularly impreasive moves IMO.

Someone like Bournemouth or Brentford have to hope their new signings will work out or they could be in trouble.

Please please let it be the year Everton go down.

Would have been nice to have strengthened the side before the Ipswich game.

Transfer window should really shut before the start of the season.

True although Ipswich will be saying the same thing.

It’ll take some folding from an established team

Despite some media optimism I don’t see anything in the three promoted teams that makes me believe they can survive, infact as a group Id say they’re worse than last years three

Are you stating that they are worse than one of those sides that went on to achieve being the 2nd worse team ever to play in the premiership.

Leeds are not staying up.

The only way any of them make it will be if wolves/brentford implode (may happen), or if west ham/everton etc drop into the mix (unlikely imo).

Originally i thought burnley had the best chance of the 3 - on the basis that they'd stay in games and give themselves a chance. But they've lost their keeper and don't look as solid. So if any of them stay up, i think it will be Sunderland atm.

Not a single press conference question on incomings prior to the 10:30 embargo.

Presser was crap.

Trouble is, there's usually just the one broadcast-media person in the room at Championship level (i.e. Adam Blackmore), so we don't get the more probing questions you'd usually get from the likes of Sky Sports if they were in attendance. That said, you'd have thought that Adam would've used at least one of his 6 alloted questions to enquire about incomings... unless he was briefed beforehand to keep shtum of course....

I sometimes find Blackmore a little over-hated but he really wastes a lot of time trying to impress managers with his "football knowledge" and we gained absolutely nothing from that press conference.

Not that they're overly important or anything, just an observation.

What do you think Will Still's answer would have been other than things are happening but nothing to announce at this time?

I assume he coordinates with Alfie beforehand.

Knowing how close we are to signings can be revealing. For instance, he said earlier this week he was hoping for incomings this week and as that hasn't happened that tells you something.

I thought we were getting a RB in on loan (?).

Rory Whittaker will be for the under-21s, not the first team.

Don't recall his words....did he actually specify he was hoping for incomings this week?

He is brilliant in my book. He does his best and really whats the point of the press conference as the managers are always guarded or unwilling to spill the beans.

Crikey under Ted Bates etc you only got a quote one a mnth , or so it appeared. Our only source was the Echo and a signing was done before anybody knew and so more exciting

It really doesn’t though. Of course he was hoping as we are all are.

They did lose their best player immediately and we had basically spent £40m on Downes and THB the second we went up. Plus they have so much more wiggle room on PSR than us.
