Annoyed and already bored of the football before it's started.

Pissed off and they wouldn't get my money.

Absolutely fine.

Russ would get Leicester promoted I reckon.

Yep then take them straight back down again UNLESS he's learnt his lesson, but nothing he's said in interviews since his being sacked suggests that to be the case.

Maybe - They'll have a good side, for that level. They'll be up there as favourites for promotion (along with us and ipswich).

That's not because of Russ. If his previous record is to go by - mid-table other than finishing 4th, once, in what most perceived as 3 horse race - we have nowt to fear.

The lesson he has learned, from interviews, is to not change as much as he did with us, stick to his philosophy, and feel disappointed in his employers for not giving him more time.

No
Bad
Don't care

I just have three simple wishes for next season:
A manager who plays with a back four
No Bazunu
No Bednarek

If I come upon a magic lamp, that's what I am going for!

Not, "I'd like to be awarded a trillion pounds" after which you could pretty much do as you please with the club?

Oh, hang on. Some charities are calling, checking if that's really what you spent 3 wishes on. They don't understand your focus...or how bad that defence has been. 🙂

I have no doubt that Martin would get Leicester promoted but I have no doubt he would get us relegated the next season.

Nah, but to be fair, it would probably be easier to end world hunger and poverty than to make Saints an established PL club again...

and the abuse from this forum... nope, I can live just fine watching Saints without Baz, calamity Jan and 5 at the back... 😉

1. No

2.Ridiculous, but who knows on Planet Rasmus (if he’s still involved)

3. Get our own appointment right, and no need to give a shit where RM ends up.

But as shown this season you’d have the good sense to get rid. Your mistake was the replacement.

I admire your optimism, but I would have very real doubts about him getting you or anybody promoted again. I'd go so far as to say there'd be a very good chance with your squad, but I would fully expect that if he did manage it, that it would be far less comfortable than last time.

Lots of needless goals conceded; lots of unnecessary points dropped against crap opposition.

We can certainly agree on the following relegation though :-D

Talking of ex-managers, this is a great listen with WGS:

https://podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/lets-be-having-you-the-00s-football-podcast/id1746684824?i=1000705473210

There’s a first part too but this is the one he talks about his time at Saints. He discusses that he just wanted to win games and didn’t care about sticking to a particular style. That’s what I’d like in a new manager.

He's probably got a yoghurt in his fridge that's of more interest to him than philosophy at all costs managers. 🙂

WGS is always my go to for never knowing how an appointment may go. Relegated with Coventry, then doing badly in Championship (was it called that then?) hated by fans...

Back to title of thread..

Seems most popular choice is Rohl, who remains bookies favourite, with some interest here for Cooper and Still.

Marti Cifuentes (QPR coach- I didn't know until I checked) has entered the betting at best odds of 14/1 . No idea whether there's anything in it.

There was a small link to him in last Fridays sun newspaper. Thought nothing of it.
he was put on gardening leave late Monday.
it did cross my mind however tenuous the link.
after some digging it appears West Brom could be his destination according to QPR forums. 🤷🏻‍♂️

He was brilliant on this.

Just look at Martin's teams and his defensive record. For a former centre back it's a shocking indictment.

We lost 5-0 three times under him!

He was a right back. 'The Norfolk Cafu', according to Norwich fans.

The point about defensive record still stands though.

Listened to this on my drive in this morning - brilliant stuff from WGS.

They spoke about Clive Woodward far too much when he wasn't even there for that but that's on the hosts not him. Stopped listening to this podcast regularly when it changed from Quickly Kevin (90s) to Lets Be Having You (2000s) and I think I made the right decision.

I've just read that David Wagner is on the shortlist. This wouldn't surprise me at all. Another piss poor SR appointment.

Wagner took Norwich from being a top 6 Championship side to mid-table mediocrity. Have a look at what Norwich fans thought of him. He's not the answer for Saints so be prepared for his arrival. 😂

Wagner wouldn’t be top of my list, but a summary like this would see you as a candidate for Trump’s press spokesperson.  Turning to the facts:

-Wagner got Huddersfield promoted, which nobody predicted

- He then kept Huddersfield up in Premier League, which even fewer predicted

- He was sacked midway through their second season, and they eventually were relegated

- They are now a third tier team

- He took Norwich to the play off semi final last season, and was then sacked in the summer when they didn’t make the final to play us

- this season under new manager, who they have just sacked, they fare finishing lower mid table

Hope this helps!

Exactly. Wagner would be a perfectly fine manager in the Championship.
