trousers Posted Tuesday at 20:55 Posted Tuesday at 20:55 I know Still is unlikely to switch to a back 4 yet, but I'd go with... McCarthy Mads - THB - Stephens - Manning Charles - Downes Fraser - Fernandes Archer - Stewart
AlexLaw76 Posted Tuesday at 20:57 Posted Tuesday at 20:57 Do NOT, repeat DO NOT play Armstrong as the lone striker. and ditch the back 3 8
S-Clarke Posted Tuesday at 21:00 Posted Tuesday at 21:00 I'm not sure how good Watford are, they've signed 9-10 new players this window or something crazy like that. And obviously they have a new manager, that's pretty much par the course. Absolutely no idea what to expect from them. I notice they have Max Allayne on loan from Man City, isn't he the kid they nabbed from us?
trousers Posted Tuesday at 21:00 Author Posted Tuesday at 21:00 Ah, bugger... Forgot about Robinson... Where does he fit in if we give the Archer-Stewart combo a fair crack of the whip?
Saint Matty 76 Posted Tuesday at 21:24 Posted Tuesday at 21:24 (edited) Bazunu Roerslev - THB - Stephens - Manning Charles - Downes Fraser - Fernandes - Robinson Archer Edit: Realised this is very harsh on Wood, who I do ultimately see starting in a back 5 with Manning dropping out. Edited Tuesday at 21:37 by Saint Matty 76
RedArmy Posted Tuesday at 21:35 Posted Tuesday at 21:35 McCarthy Rozzer THB Stephens Manning Charles Downes Fernandes Armstrong* Nessie Robinson *He gets one chance playing off the right, if he’s a passenger he’s done.

sockeye Posted Tuesday at 21:43 Posted Tuesday at 21:43 (edited) Basicially the final round of auditions for the derby. Something like McCarthy Mads THB Stephens Manning Downes Charles Robinson Fernandes Fraser Archer perhaps. I would like two up top but it’s kind of difficult. Edited Tuesday at 21:43 by sockeye

Nolan Posted Wednesday at 06:24 Posted Wednesday at 06:24 We played a short game before the Brighton friendly. can we get the poor first half out the way, by playing 45 minutes before the Watford match starts? 1
Willo of Whiteley Posted Wednesday at 06:33 Posted Wednesday at 06:33 Four at the back please, a bit of attacking impetuous. No long diagonal balls to a 5”7” striker. Bazunu; Roerslav, Hardwood-Bellis, Stephens, Manning; Downes, Charles, Fernandes; Fraser, Stewart, Robinson Expecting a 1-1 draw. Watford have started ok.

Kenilworthy59 Posted Wednesday at 07:23 Posted Wednesday at 07:23 This is absolutely going to be 1-1. Saints to score first and Watford to equalise very late.

skintsaint Posted Wednesday at 07:34 Posted Wednesday at 07:34 Hope we smash these pricks 4-0, still pissed at that blatant handball goal the other season. 3
Jack Posted Wednesday at 08:07 Posted Wednesday at 08:07 7 points from 4 looks ok going into the derby. Anything less is a really poor start. We’ve gone behind in all the league games so far and have struggled to make an impact. Hopefully score first this time and control the game like we saw last night, after scoring
Saint Fan CaM Posted Wednesday at 08:20 Posted Wednesday at 08:20 2-1 Saints. There - I’ve said it. 1
Pamplemousse Posted Wednesday at 08:32 Posted Wednesday at 08:32 Their results have been a defeat at Charlton, a narrow win against a clearly utter shit QPR and a draw at Swansea. Really we should win this game. We seem to have found our shooting boots, it would be madness to bring in Armstrong and drop one of Stewart/Archer. You'll assume JRob will come back in. 1
AlexLaw76 Posted Wednesday at 08:35 Posted Wednesday at 08:35 We have better player, in almost every position. 0-2 to saints. Archer to get another

I’m still a bit pissed after being there when they stuck 7 past us and the OB held us back in extra time making us miss the last train back from Waterloo. Payback time………eventually

Although I totally get why we would want to move to that position. Doubt Still is ditching his preferred defensive formation anytime soon. Baz THB Stephens Quarshie Raz Fernandes Charles Downes, Frazer Archer Robinson Tough on Wood but big Q can use his left foot I think. If Fernandes has been sold, or about to be, then Matsuki in his place. Strong bench whatever happens.
maysie Posted Wednesday at 16:21 Posted Wednesday at 16:21 (edited) Bazuna Roerslev THB Stephens Taylor Charles Fernandes Fraser Azaz Robinson Archer Edited Wednesday at 16:22 by maysie 2
spyinthesky Posted Wednesday at 17:45 Posted Wednesday at 17:45 I wonder if Edwards could do a job in midfield but I guess too early to try the option. Whatever the starting line up we do appear to have decent options off the bench plus a possible down the back of the sofa cash to spend in the January window, if we are in contention. Really need to avoid the Play Offs as this is a lottery. BUT if we do go up can we bridge the ever increasing gap in quality between the Championship and Prem?

I think we have just got so used to how he performs that we've become almost blind to his many shortcomings. Sure he probably hasn't had a real howler so far but I'm unconvinced by his defensive abilities.

AlexLaw76 Posted yesterday at 12:51 Posted yesterday at 12:51 Snippets wellington out for a couple of months. Taylor is here and we are good enough to get on with it Arma may not make sat, with Will and Breezy out Finns stats speak are obvious, quality in this league. Plays between the lines and gets into the box. hopefully new signing will open up the formation when needed, but we need to win like we played in the 2nd half the other night and not shoot ourselves in the foot. Matty is a fantastic player but wants to leave. It is hard to keep player, more so when their national sides are pressuring them in order to make the World Cup. his departure will free up space to bring in quality and players who want to be here. hardest part of the last few days and weeks has been moving house, kind of left it to the wife. Everything else is football and those upstairs will make sure we have a competitive team to what we want to achieve. I need to win the games bases on last 24 hours I am pretty confident we will have a strong squad, just frustrating to be met with an international break. we have started Ok, won 3, drawn 1 and lost 1 - like Watford who are a good side with power in the middle and pace in behind. They will want to win. might be tricky to include new signings on Sat. If they are with us tomorrow they will be included, if not they won’t. Mads has settled very well and performed well. His physical data after the game was impressive and you can tell he has been working on set pieces with Thomas frank. We have a very good player. we have an away tie at Anfield, which is pretty cool 6

I don’t think we will start that way - still the 3cb route for this probably and only Mads for certain should start - but I can see Will giving the two championship based newbies a run out whatever formation used. Wee Man and Jay might be told to give it full gas up and down and then expect Azaz and Fellows to come on for last thirty as an example. Edited yesterday at 13:53 by gio1saints 2
benjii Posted yesterday at 16:02 Posted yesterday at 16:02 Assuming the new lot aren't ready, I'd go with: ---Macca (but will be Bazman)--- ------THB---Jacko---Nigel------ Mads---Charles--Downes---Taylor ---------------Fraser------------ ------Stewart-------Archer------ Sub: Baz, Wood, Ronnie, Manning, Sesay, Mat-ski, Robbo, Downs, Armstrong
Saint_lambden Posted yesterday at 16:04 Posted yesterday at 16:04 Louza being out suspended for them is a boost. Massive player in their midfield. They’ve tended to start games well but fade which is the opposite to us. Can’t see us keeping a clean sheet but hopefully we’ll have more firepower than them to edge it. 2-1 Saints. 2
