Carrick was supposedly high on the Rasmus list a couple of years ago (before we appointed Lego).

Although we’re told Rasmus is hands off.

Rohl would have been my choice in the summer, although he didn’t do himself any favours with his interviews etc at the end of last season and summer.

But what people are ignoring is that this is SR - we wouldn't go and appoint a common sense person like Carrick or Rohl, we'd pivot to someone else who'd make us even worse.

It's better for us and the club if we give Still a chance to form a side, we can't go pissing more manager compo up the wall only for SR to go and pick a worse guy.

It will be a 30yr old we've never heard of, perhaps from the Slovenian 2nd division or somewhere like that - and I think we'll go back to facial hair this time as well.  He'll also be 'highly regarded' by 'European' journalists of course.

Oh, and he'll agree in the contract to play Baz.

We have some good players who are playing far below what they are capable of. Any manager we get in needs to get the players playing at least to an average standard which should be enough to get a hell of a lot more points. Still isn't attacking enough and seemingly can't coach us to have more of a threat.

Either Carrick or Rohl would be an upgrade on Still IMO. We would make the play offs with either. We will no doubt leave it too late if we do ever make a move though.

Neither, Carrick ultimately failed at Boro and Rohl has all the potential to be another hipster appointment. Time these cheap cunts actually put their hand in their pockets and went and poached a manager with some pedigree already at a club.

Just think the scrambling around for the manager who will save us is starting to feel a bit Groundhog Day to be honest.

There are much deeper problems than the manager, we have consistently declined across five or six of them with wildly different styles and backgrounds. Still may well be out of his depth but what happens when we get Carrick, we get Rohl, we get Potter and we're still mid-table at Christmas? Players come to us having looked good and suddenly they look shit.

There's something in the air, in the culture of the club. It's a culture of losing, being scared, not knowing what to do. People at the club in recent years, both playing and non-playing staff, have seen no end to the embarrassment that has forged this culture since the turn of the decade and continues to infest us. I don't know if that gets fixed easily in the short-term.

But we were assured Rohl was the brains behind Ralph. How many layers deep does this go?!

Is football being run by three kids in a trenchcoat? Because it would explain a LOT of the tactics.

While I'm not advocating a change of manager just yet, if we do go down the managerial sacking route I'd be interested in Sean Dyche. We like a ginger manager and he'd at least sort the defence out.

We could stop giving them new contracts and also get rid of hangers on like Lallana.

That's definitely part of it. The Stephens extension further suggested to me it's SR sustaining this easy-going quiet lads culture around the club. Guess they're just adopting the mild-manners prawn sandwich attitude of our fans

Yep, I was hoping for Cooper or Rohl.

Still was left field but I liked the way he came across, so was rooting for him. However after a whole preseason and several games in, it just looks like a mess.
