  1. 1. Your Choice of Manager?

I'm imagining Spors singing 'Help me Tonda, help, help me Tonda' in a high pitched voice whilst prancing around the boardroom. It's a kind of nightmare.

Spors will be finding any reason to NOT appoint a manager, he wants Eckert that badly.

No real knowledge, but I also think Spors wants him in.

And for those saying he can't be given the job based on two wins against poor opposition (with which I agree), there is the argument that he's does everything right so far so give him more games to show his worth.

Everything right for SR. Play Stephens and Bazunu and continue with three centre backs.

I don't trust our players with TE. As soon as he's given the position, you watch them all drop off as they clearly rule the roost. These players need someone to keep them in check, this job is too big for the under study. Though, I do appreciate the steadying of the ship he has managed thus far.

Saying all that, I'm not ging to shit a brick, because I think we are owed a season of mediocracy/struggle due to how the club has been run over the last year. I was looking forward to the Championship, now it feels like medicine.

Imagine the reaction of some of our “leaders” in th squad if they tried to orchestrate the sacking of Will Still in order to get someone better, only to be given someone worse. 😂

For note, I don’t think the players were trying to get rid of WS, but they certainly weren’t trying as hard as they could.

I seem to remember many on here crying out to play a back 3 when we couldn’t buy a win.

The problem isn’t systems per se, it is the quality of the players that you have playing the systems and how well the team adapts to them.

Yes, so why play with wing backs when we don't have any at the club. Madness.

If we choose to follow that counter-argument we can continue as we are for a bit, no? Rather than giving Eckert a multi-year contract.

Might be nice to dodge paying further unnecessary payoffs. Just for a season or so...

The players have been taking the piss since Ralph left.. bar juric who appeared not to take any shit from them but they didn’t play for him.. they didn’t play for will still as it’s nice and easy at saints. Players want to be best mates with managers..

Ekhart would be another who’d be steamrolled by our players who want an easy life!! Need someone who won’t take any shit but who will instantly earn respect.

Another day and nothing….. tick tock

Based on SR previous record. It is likely new manager is appointed at the end of the international break. The day before the Charlton game so he has no time to work with the players.

If managers are not even managers these days, and they don't get to sign players and they get the sack long before player contracts run out, it's hardly surprising they don't get the respect they used to back in the day. Unless the manager wins games and survives a year or two, they are always fighting a losing battle.

We needed to experience so many losses before Bazunu was dropped. Now, I think we may need to experience a couple of losses before new  manager will be appointed and hopefully Bazunu will be dropped again. This is an obvious management problem.

I have it on very good authority that TV's Morph is going to get the gig. He'll be clay-er manager apparently. His good communication skills swung it for him over the other candidates.

I'm leaving now.

We lost twice before baz was dropped, to stoke and hull.

The 8 games with mccarthy, we won 1, drew 3, lost 4.

The 2 games with baz back, We've won both of them.

Any manager with a brain will pick the keeper we win with, and that's baz...

Not convinced it’s Ekhart, one of the interviews went very well today

Country clue?

It’s ridiculous that experienced managers have to prove themselves to beat a default choice of someone with no first team track record at all. What a ludicrous situation SR have us in again…

Not really. He made a gaff in the QPR game but made at least one crucial save too.

The two keepers are much of a muchness, not sure why some people seem to think Macca is prime Dino Zoff…

I don’t think anyone thinks McCarthy is Dino Zoff.

So Atalanta have sacked Juric today and already announced a new head coach as well

Not sure Atalanta should be our yardstick. They appointed Juric y’know!

And in both games he made absolute howlers that lead to goals... failing to stop a shot from an acute angle that went in the middle of the goal for Stoke's second, and then flapping at a simple catch and parrying it straight to a Hull forward for their first.

And in the two games we won last week with him on the pitch, he still managed to gift goals to the opponents. The only difference was that, unlike against Stoke and Hull, the attacking players did their jobs this time so he got away with it.

Simply pointing to the number of points we've got when he's been playing as evidence that he's the better keeper is just absurd.

I was replying to someone making the point that we had to lose so many games before he was dropped.  It was two.

Surely he'll get the Leeds job as soon as it's available.

This job won’t be of Tonda’s own Accord.

As long as we appoint a manager with a good C(R-)V, the first few games could be a Prelude to future success. If they can then put across their preferred Type (R) of football to the first team with Clarity we might just get a Hybrid of Elegance, attractive Pass(port)ing and a Rig(id back) Line.

But, as we know, with Sport Republic's HR(-V) it could b e:Ny1.

Got a feeling it’s a straight race between Eckert, O’Neill or some complete unknown that has slipped completely under the radar. Probably O’Neill…he can handle a spreadsheet and has some fancy videos too that must have blown Wankerson’s mind.

O’Neill is out of the running according to most (trustworthy) commentators.

Out of whose three options I think I might gamble on the third option! (recognising how dangerous that can be with SR!).

Not really. Pep isn’t looking for a job. Rodgers is highly unlikely, but not totally out of the question.
