Is Saints wage bill 90% of income? Think its was in Prem so most of the £95m Prem money is spent, leaving g gate money and others. That means owner has to keep putting money in. Players sales and buys probably equal out. Even Man u and Liverpool are £1b in debt. Football is a mess whoever owns a club.

Not only is the Championship much weaker than a couple of years ago, but also there seems to have been quite a few games when we've played teams that have got their own long injury list. Which makes our performances this year even more woeful.

Hull are missing players but not expecting much tomorrow. We'll have 5 at the back and create a couple of chances which AA will squander. Heading for a 0-0 unless Stewart is fit to play.

Starting to think Edozie could make a difference. Someone to run at the opposition and create openings.

After watching Barry Bannan dominate our midfield, I figured that the championship level was really low and so Romeu would be fine. 
 

Turns out it’s actually our midfield that was a really low level and made Bannan look like Rodri

There is no one at all capable of making a tackles through out 35 mins or even run enough so its looked a real wild card, but turned out joker.

Anyone who can run and take on players should be given a chance. But thars been decided to be not part of ouf great promotion plan.

Compared to 2 years ago, I actually think the main problem is the managers / coaching have got better for the other teams but ours hasn't. They've all realised a) we piss around at the back and will cough it up for easy chances & b) we only have 2 central midfielders so if you make them chase they'll be knackered by half time c) Can't defend crosses or corners. Once they've seen one team do it they all just copy it.

Yep, one of my cousins met up with one of the Oxford squad before the Christmas fixture and asked if they had a game plan and he said exactly that. Two on Scienza, close the midfield and look for a mistake at the back to make the break.

We're so damned predictable, it's frustrating. 

Really think the forwards and backwards chant needs to be in full voice if/when we start pissing about at the back again.

This is a major problem and we don't have coaches who are smart enough to do anything about it. A coach who is switched on will make a few subtle tweaks to change things rather than just keep doing what has already been sussed out. The training ground is the place to work on alternative formations and systems but clearly we are not doing it or not doing it well enough. Every side has a generic system they utilise but they don't all capitulate when opponents do something to nullify them. In game management needs to be much smarter as well. We must start making tactical changes or we will continue to be far too predictable. Unfortunately none of this is likely to happen under Eckert and his coaches because they are not up to the required level and don't have enough experience.

I was genuinely excited about Romeu's return, I'm not going to hide from that. I knew he wouldn't be the same player that left us, but even if he was 70% the player we all loved, then having him around a squad that has become increasingly disconnected with us fans, would surely have a benefit. OR is a great pro, and clearly enjoyed his time here with us previously.

What I have seen since his second coming is kinda confusing. On the pitch he's been so far off it, that his presence is a liability. Ouch, that stung a bit. But its the off the pitch I cannot fathom. In a squad with no leaders, why is he so quiet? Where's his input? Was Tonda perhaps unhappy with the signing? Has he been deliberately subdued and nullified by lack of appearances and performances? 

Can see him mutually ending this adventure before the month is out if I'm honest.

And that leads to my final point. We are really in the shit with bloated unbalanced mess of a squad and piss ant leadership.

I'm pretty sure it will be the same excuse as every week. That we trained well, played really well until they scored and were unlucky we didn't score first.

Only just realised? We have been absolutely woeful for about 3-4 seasons and I do not see that improving any time soon. We are at best a middle table championship side and have been for years. Sad isn’t it.

Er, we haven't been at best a middle table Championship side for years.

This year, sure. But not at all since 2011-2, 14 odd years ago.

Before our recent woeful form we didn't have woeful form for a number of games. HTH.

If we’re going to be committed to playing 523 then Romeu makes little sense. Even when he was younger he wasn’t that mobile and now he’s 34. If when he’s fitter we’re playing something like a 433, then I could see value of bringing him on to help see out games.

Last home game fans even stated to dit down in Northam. You cant watch game sat down so its an indicator of how boring its got watching Southampton fc.  If it happens today I'm going to go berserk.

I discovered I had something called Samsung TV last evening and thus was able to watch a bit of Werder Bremen v Eintrach Frankfurt. Bremen have this promising player, who played really well, called Sugawara. Could he DAJFU?
