Appy Posted Monday at 20:10 Posted Monday at 20:10 Can’t see it being Good Friday. TNT seem pretty adamant on their promoting for the quarter finals it’s the 4th and 5th. 1
M271 Posted Monday at 20:10 Posted Monday at 20:10 There are currently no mid week championship games for us for the 2 weeks after the fa cup match. So the Wrexham match could be rescheduled from the Monday to the Tuesday or Wednesday, depending when our cup match is, and the Ipswich match the following mid week.
Saint NL Posted Monday at 20:12 Posted Monday at 20:12 Let's face it, we won't win. But, arsenal won't sit back and so we can play counter attacking just like at Fulham. So I reckon we'll give it a good go. 1

Have the FA had a QF weekend falling on Easter before, and if so was a match scheduled for Good Friday ? As logical as some of the arguments are, I'd imagine the final say on the fixtures and timing will be with the broadcasters. If they've already designated the slots for Saturday and Sunday then that's when the game will be. 1

OneMrsWallace Posted Monday at 20:30 Posted Monday at 20:30 Players should be right up for a game like this, especially at home. Arsenal's games could be really squeezing up and whilst they're a top side, I suspect Arteta will rest a few players and we might just have a small chance. My Dad always said there's usually one big shock per round, so maybe that'll be us.
Turkish Posted Monday at 20:31 Posted Monday at 20:31 Just remember guys a few weeks ago I predicted we would never lose a game ever again. Since then we are unbeaten. just saying….. 1 2

SNSUN Posted Monday at 20:33 Posted Monday at 20:33 Well to be fair if you'd told me in August Saints would get to the Quarter Finals of the FA Cup this season I'd have been pleased. Anything else is a bonus. We're the underdogs and we're at home.

coalman Posted Monday at 20:35 Posted Monday at 20:35 The best time to play Arsenal is always the tail end of the season. When their hopes and dreams fade from the confidence of how this time is going to be different to a slightly less Tottenham version of Tottenham.

EssEffCee Posted Monday at 20:51 Posted Monday at 20:51 I hope the club don't take the piss with pricing, can't be arsed with hundreds of Arsenal fans everywhere. Surely better to just get the ground packed out with decent pricing? 1

Arteta will be working with the reserves who aren't away playing for their countries and World Cup selection. Brazil have 2 games in the USA. I don't know if Spain's game v Argentina scheduled for Qatar will be moved or postponed, but their players are going to be flying all over the place.
EssEffCee Posted Monday at 21:01 Posted Monday at 21:01 How many internationals do we have? Off the top of my head I can think of Larin, Manning, Azaz, Charles and Peretz. Any others?

I like this, hoping the majority of their squad are scattered across the globe during the international break where an escalation of ww3 sees all flights grounded and players stranded, we then beat Arsenal's kids and secure our path into a Wembley semi final appearance. Make it happen Don 👍 1 1

Wouldn’t be surprised if they wait till next Thursday to announce the fixture dates.
VectisSaint Posted Monday at 21:14 Posted Monday at 21:14 Since when is it the Quarter Finals? Will always be the 6th Round for me. 😉 1

RedArmy Posted Monday at 21:40 Posted Monday at 21:40 I checked our record in the 6th round. City 21/22 - lost Bournemouth 20/21 - won Wigan 17/18 - won United 04/05 - lost Wolves 02/03 - won United 95/96 - lost Norwich 91/92 - lost replay Brighton 85/86 - won Sheffield Wednesday 83/84 - won replay Arsenal 78/79 - lost replay Bradford 75/76 - won Forest 62/63 - won second replay Spurs 47/48 - lost 7 wins 6 losses There were some earlier “quarter final” appearances but they weren’t 6th round proper, all wins though, 5 of them.
Stripey McStripe Shirt Posted Monday at 21:48 Posted Monday at 21:48 By the time this game comes around it'll be the lowest priority game left of their season, and they'll be on a downer having just lost the League cup final. Already looking forward to who we will be drawn against in the semis.

James G Posted yesterday at 07:15 Posted yesterday at 07:15 I think, on the day, they are beatable. They'll field a weakened team, they struggled against Mansfield and they have a load of games and lots going on 1

Osvaldorama Posted yesterday at 08:02 Posted yesterday at 08:02 Gutted to draw such a strong oppo. But we are a bit of a bogey team for them. If they rest some players, anything could happen. SaintBobby Posted yesterday at 09:39 Posted yesterday at 09:39 When will scheduling be decided? It's barely 3 weeks away....
EssEffCee Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago By the end of this week I'd have thought. Hopefully the rearranged dates for Ipswich and Wrexham will be confirmed at the same time.
Pamplemousse Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago 3 minutes ago, SaintBobby said: When will scheduling be decided? It's barely 3 weeks away.... Thursday or Friday
Pamplemousse Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago I'm pretty certain the game will be on the Saturday, it just depends when. There's literally no other football in England on the Saturday as lower leagues are all on Friday, and no Prem games scheduled, so the usual 3pm TV blackout doesn't apply. So in theory, games could be scheduled at 12.15pm, 3pm and then 5.45pm, which have been the kick off times in the FA Cup on Saturdays this year. Not sure if they would use the 8pm slot, I hope not. Man City v Liverpool definitely will be Saturday, and police likely will veto a late kick off, they may even insist it's the early kick off. If BBC (which has 2nd pick)choose our game, all their games they've picked on a Saturday so far have taken place in the teatime slot, so I have a feeling our game will kick off on the Saturday at 5.45pm/6pm. If BBC don't select us (pretty sure they will, as the league leaders away to a lower league team will always be interesting from a neutral's perspective) and choose Chelsea v Port Vale instead as 2nd pick then it'll either be 12.15pm or 3pm. Southampton Women are also playing at home on the Saturday incidentally but that has already been moved to Eastleigh's ground. 1
Eric The Red Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago I agree. All the teams left in the Champions League will want a Saturday slot leaving West Ham Leeds on the Sunday. My guess is we'll be lunchtime or teatime.
