trousers Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago (edited) Draw due to take place tomorrow (Monday 9th March) just before the West Ham v Brentford game (c. 7pm) I'd like to see us get Man City and bring back Nathan Jones for one match only to see us easily through that one.... 😂 Ball Numbers 1. Southampton 2. Port Vale 3. Manchester City 4. Leeds United 5. Arsenal 6. Liverpool 7. Chelsea 8. West Ham United or Brentford Edited 16 hours ago by trousers

sfc4prem Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago Either way we'll have to play one of the big boys to win it. Could you imagine? Would be ridiculously superb if we only went and did it.

Is that how they do it with the FA Cup draw these days, i.e. pre-determine the semi final fixtures at the quarter final stage?

skintsaint Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago This is half the draw anyway : Man City vs Liverpool vs Chelsea vs Arsenal vs 8 3
Challenger Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago Lump on Liverpool away, you know it's going to happen. 1

trousers Posted 17 hours ago Author Posted 17 hours ago Looks like we can scrub out Norwich from the draw
sockeye Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago Liverpool is overdue. But we all want Port Vale, don't we? Cracking anniversary kit.

But difficult knowing which one we’ll get. Perhaps I can pre-order one of each from a dodgy website in China. Get in ahead of the rush. Just in case. 1

After that tough call. Arsenal could be champions so be great to play them. Also experience the amazing Anfield atmosphere can’t be sniffed at. Then there’s the chance to see the likes of Pep and Haaland so tough to decide. 2

Badger Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago (edited) This is what the FA Cup is all about. Chance for a one off scarf and be seen live on TV holding it up at a ridiculous time of day to deprive people of watching something else in their usual routine. Edited 16 hours ago by Badger 1 1
TheAlehouseBrawlers Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago It will be interesting to see what the club do if we get a home tie. Being the FA Cup visiting sides are entitled to 15% so more than the 3,000 the segregated away section holds. Of course they would have thought of it but don't know how they'll control the concourses if they have to give up a block or two of usual home seats in the Chapel or KIngsland.

Giving them the whole of the chapel would probably be the easiest way to segregate them. I’d like Port Vale at home, the one side a lot of us would never have seen us play. Don't want something shite like City away. Probably get Leeds and it’ll be dressed up as revenge for the playoffs or some shite.

EssEffCee Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago Club said additional allocation would go into Kingsland when they announced the changes didn't they? Better not be the Chapel. 2
SaintTex Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago would be happy with a home match for any other than the big 4. Port Vale, Leeds, or West Ham/Brentford shouldn't scare anyone. 2

SNSUN Posted 15 hours ago Posted 15 hours ago It'll be Saints vs ex-Saints (West Ham). I have rubbed my ball and seen the future. But seriously, how cool would a Semi be. Bring on Port Vale at SMS!

saintstowin Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago I propose scrapping the traditional draw. The Friday and Saturday 5th round teams play each other from this stage on, separate to the Sunday and Monday 5th round teams who do the same. Winners meet in the final with the Sunday Mondays getting a head start.
AlexLaw76 Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago The draw is obvious Man City v Southampton Liverpool v Port Vale Arsenal v Leeds Chelsea v West Ham/Brentford

Saint Pete Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago Would take any of Leeds, West Ham/Brentford or Port Vale, preferably at home. Probably won't happen though!
whelk Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago Away to Arsenal - another big away day supported by thousands. Or Chelsea or WestHam/Brentford. Man City will get Port Vale at home
Kenilworthy1959 Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago We have never played Leeds in the FA cup in our history, so have a feeling it will be them (yes I know probability doesn't work like that) 1
Pamplemousse Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago (edited) 4 hours ago, EssEffCee said: Club said additional allocation would go into Kingsland when they announced the changes didn't they? Better not be the Chapel. I believe the away bar in that section blocks the divider towards the Chapel, so it would have to extend towards the Kingsland. Unless they do what Derby do at Pride Park, and separate the away end concourse into two different halves. Edited 12 hours ago by Pamplemousse
OneMrsWallace Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago Liverpool v Southampton - you know it. Port Vale would seem ideal, we might get Robbie Williams as half time entertainment, so maybe not. Reckon we could give dirty Leeds a good game.

Is that Billy Joel leading the singing? Good to see MTG and Lauren Bobert behind him, the USA is really getting behind soccerball in time for the World Series Cup.

Kenilworthy1959 Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Do we automatically have to postpone both the Easter games now? Or could we say play the FA cup game on the Friday and still play Wrexham on the Monday - or play Ipswich on the Friday and the FA cup game on the Monday?

Last year, all four quarter final ties took place on the weekend (Saturday/Sunday). You would imagine it will be the same this year, so both our league games will need to be moved.

Mixedkebab Posted just now Posted just now Been waiting 30 odd years for cup revenge on Port Vale A proper miserable trip there when they knocked us out of the cup in the 90s, Widdrington red card, and someone in the home end with a skate shirt goading us at the end.
