Short memories when they shithoused their way to a draw at St Mary’s with ten men, wasting every second they could. You manage the game how you need to in order to get it over the line. In the words of that Leicester melt, β€œjust grow up!”

Great win. Would have lost 5-0 with Bazunu in goal because he wouldn't have saved any of those. Peretz was immense and has made a huge difference to the whole side.

Was wound up by the Lampard-licking Sky coverage beforehand. It was all about Coventry. Ha! That'll teach 'em. Well done Saints. Eckert is proving some of us wrong on his tactical ability but the key thing appears to be that there is contentment in the camp. I suspect getting rid of certain bad eggs is paying dividends.

they got bloody 8 minutes of added time in the second half alone. If we wasted any, it sure wasn't missed by the ref.

I was wondering if Kevin Phillips hates us for letting him go at a young age, even though he did come back for a relegation on his CV. He wasn’t remotely enthusiastic at Saints being just the second team to win away at the league leaders and wanted us down to 9 men.Β

People seem surprised by Peretz's performances but why? There is a reason that he is a Bayern Munich player and it is not because he drives a BMW

Bazunu was a Man City player…

I think you must have missed the game when several thousand saints fans waved their mobile phone at him.

I don't think we cheated or played dirty today, with the exception of THB faking a head injury.

It was actually refreshing to see Saints play with more physicality as we've been way too passive for way too long.

I think we can blame his wife for anything he has against the people of Southampton.

agreed. we are not afraid to make a professional foul and take a yellow these days. the 'after you sir' lightweight side of last season has long gone

Have to say peretz reactions were great today especially that point black straight at him today he held the ball well when another numpty would of had it cannon off his chest.

With hands that fast no wonder his missus isΒ πŸ”₯

Their fans are almost as bad as the skates for self entitlement and having delusional superiority complex. Absolutely odious most of them. Fucking brilliant winding them up online. I’d love them to bottle it but sadly they’re too far ahead now, and won’t get put under enough pressure by those below.Β

Seems like they are not used to having a team stand up against them and make it hard and it wound them up. Zero class from them in defeat. Their forum was full of how they were going to win easy and I think they were genuinely shocked at being beaten today. Great to turn them over and ruin their weekend.

I couldn't watch today cos I was out with no signal. As soon as it returned the first thing that pinged up on my phone was a message from a Cov supporting mate saying "still can't beat you cunts 😠". Took another 10 mins for me to get a strong enough signal to find out if that meant we had drawn or won.

Just watched the highlights - that save from Peretz in the first half was absolutely outstanding. Like others have already said, we haven't seen a save like that since Niemi.

Playoff hunt very much still on.

Won't hold a few delusional comments by their fans against them.Β  Soft spot for Coventry,Β  had some great games with them back in the day at the Dell 8.2, 5.5, trips to Highfield road on the big open terrace away section where it was too far and packed to walk for a piss and an easy train up there on the Virgin flyer. Close shave with SISU and a nice stadium now.

The 4.0 home win in 2012 was quite a day to, promoted back to the PL, Sir Ricky held high and beer all night. UTS

You only have to read pre-match and matchday thread ! We were light in midfield apparently despite adding an extra one in!Β

So Peretz gets MotM. Fair play. Thought Bree was brilliant. He was playing against a pretty good winger and hardly let anything past. Once again Downes bossed the midfield. THB and Jack were especially solid and Manning seems to have turned things around too. A particularly good day out.

Did like it when we were singing Israel's No 1 s so their fans responded with England's No 1 about their goalie...then he booted straight in to touch...so we started singing England's No 1.

I assume he's not being serious. Although I'd be interested in the view of @Whitey Grandad

Me?Β

He's an ok keeper hut someway short of fantastic. We got lucky today or maybe it was a reward for his positioning.

Comparisons with Baz are beyond childish since a) he's injured b) on loan somewhere else and c) unlikely to be seen playing for us again.Β

If by some miracle we do get promoted we're going to need a lot better but for now he'll do.

He's a really good championship keeper which is what matters. Balderdash to suggest we were lucky today.Β

Comparisons with Baz are surely appropriate to discuss, aren't they? If as you say, Peretz will do in the Championship, that already puts him significantly above Baz, otherwise we wouldn't have (belatedly) got shot of him, would we?Β

The wife offered me steak earlier and I chose pasta. I realised this too late. I guess it's a pasta and sleep on the sofa kind of day.

All clubs have online idiots. I remember 2012. Coventry already relegated and their fans were decent that day. They had a horrible time with SISU. Really dont begrudge them time in the Prem

Hearing another team complain about us using the β€˜dark arts’ is music to me ears. About time we learned how to shithouse other teams instead of rolling over and getting our tummy tickled.

Tonda had a game plan today and we executed it perfectly.Β

yes. Not being streetwise has always been one of our major weaknesses

Jesus. What a bunch of twats. Few balanced posts about them bring happy to dish out but not getting it back. Every team down the whole league pyramid does the stuff they are complaining about. Am sure when they steal a few yards at a throw in or waste a bit of time it's perfectly OK though

Comfortable win. They barely created a decent chance all match.

All they do is sling it in the mixer. They are way off the standard of a typical Championship winner and if we hadn't wasted a quarter of the season with Still, we'd be strolling to the league title.

He's a proper keeper, but he's not perfect. the chance just before half time - he is absolutely rooted to his line and the lad should score. IMO he has to come for that. When the lad heads it he's only about 3 yards from the goal

He's my favourite player, just ahead of Scienza and Larin.
