The performance v Arsenal shows we can adapt during a game and have effective subs, also play football for two halves. Wrexham is another huge game. Win it and we are in the during seat. Wrexham 2-3 Saints.

One wild card. Our away fans. They're amazing. I was at the Fulham game and was blown away by what they brought. Completely out-sung the home crowd.  As our collective confidence grows can't help but think that can be a factor tomorrow. With tired muscles, players will need all the boost they can get.

Fulham was good but away support been a bit rubbish at most games tbh.

Small allocation though and normally that bodes well.

Fulham was an outlier as we had roughly 7k there in total.

Wrexham's tight little ground will be the polar opposite of the sedate home support of Craven Cottage, it will be noisy and raucous. We only got 1,200 tickets (a sizeable chunk of that went to corp, etc), they'll do well to make a dent in the atmosphere. Winning will help.

I'm assuming that he can hit them ok in training, because he's not reluctant to keep attempting them rather than looking for a better option.

Tonight we find out at what price was the cup victory. 

Can't start Ross. Leo gets 65 mins either side. This is going to  be tough.

Hoping we get a real ref tonight, and not one of the chancers. 

Escaping with a predictable 1-1 isn't the end of the world, just hope we come through unscathed.

They need to stop his pocket money and keep him in detention after training to make him practice shooting. He gets to go home when he scores 99 out of 100 shots.

Seriously though both him and Scienza are costing us dearly by their waywardness when in relatively easy scoring positions. We could have and maybe should have scored 4 or 5 on Saturday if these guys had learned to calm down a bit and make better decisions. I guess that's why they're playing for us rather than big clubs.

I would have thought most people would be buoyed up by Saturday's performance and far more optimistic about our prospects tonight. The players know what they have to do; we have good cover in most positions even if the odd bod has to be rested so our overall strength should still shine through. Cheer up and enjoy these moments, they've been a long time coming. Faint hearts never won fair ladies or gentlemen!

Going for power over placement. He doesn’t try and tuck them in the corners like a quality finisher does he smashes them as hard as he can which means you don’t get the accuracy. Even the one from about 6 yards out the other week that hit the bar he absolutely walloped. Tells me he’s lacking a bit of confidence in front of goal, relax place them into the corner rather than smashing them down the keepers throat

Seen a couple of Wrexham games recently where they’ve been absolutely dreadful first half then come back into it. Vs Watford in particular, they were horrendous and didn’t have a shot in the first half. Could do with a fast start tonight I reckon

Its been an almost perfect easter weekend of us, so no doubt we'll lose this one. 

Wrexham are a strange team - Doyle and Moore aside, I don't think I'd pick any of their squad to get into ours, but they are a proper football leauge outfit.  

Still in with a sniff of the top 2, remarkably, but will need to essentially win all of our remaning games which is a tough ask - our run in isn't the easiest.

Downes, Charles and Matsuki should alleviate the tiredness if they come in.

As Dman said, this will be a very direct game for Wrexham. So can see them putting in a lot balls into the box. Hopefully Saints and Tonda are prepared and revisited the Hull and Millwall away games to see what not to do!

Other than Peretz, THB, Bree, Azaz & Scienza we can swap out anyone and be equally as strong - which given the fixture pile up, we'll have to do. 

Downes and Charles as a pair in the middle for me tonight. I'd probably start Larin, Fellows deserves another game. Scienza has to start, but we only tend to get 60 minutes from him anyway. 

Its then a toss up of Stephens or Wood, Manning or Wellington?

Sadly I think you’re probably right. These are not the sort of games we do well in. Strong, aggressive team backed by a passionate crowd. They’re not great by any means but I think we’ll struggle tonight. Given we will never a lose again I’m going to say we hold on for a 1-1 draw

Occurred to me that if our Blackburn match is rearranged for next Tuesday as suggested, the same night as Skates v Ipswich we could have the unusual situation of both Saints and Skates wanting each other to win.

It’s clearly a confidence issue seen it many times before in players, even our kids do it, just smash it and hope for the best rather than calmly pick your spot and almost pass it into the net.

They're generally viewing it as a 'must win' for them as they think we'll win our game in hand and that if we get above them they won't catch us. They were pretty confident before the Arsenal game, but that result seems to have understandably got them a bit worried. 

Lots of them saying that we are clearly a better footballing team than them. They seem particularly fearful of Scienza and Fellows, as they generally seem to feel that fast, tricky wingers are a bit of an achilles heel for them. I can see those two getting a kicking tonight so I hope we get a strong ref. 

If we can score first they'll have no choice but to come at us and then I think we can do some proper damage against them on the break. If they score first I could see them shithousing and trying to park the bus for an ugly 1-0.

Could be an interesting game this one. Over to you Tonda. If you can school Arteta then surely you can come up with a plan for Parkinson.

You are correct.  It was not shown as being on Sky last time I looked. I only checked today after looking for a stream and it advised Sky was showing the game. I would have been livid had I missed the broadcast.

fully expecting a very tough game against a very physical Wrexham side that will try to stop us playing football. Need Flynn to keep his head tonight and for us to take the chances we create tonight. A draw wouldn't be a bad result but really want 3 ahead of Saturday and what will be another very tough game.

I was hoping I would be able to get them to put on our game, but I've just realised that Real v Bayern in the Champions League qtr final is on at the same time, so I reckon my chances of convincing them to show Wrexham v Southampton instead of that are probably close to zero 😕

Also, agree with the comments around the officials having eyes wide open. Wrexham are not a footballing team…they are physical and will try to injure at least Scienza, Fellows and Edozie (assuming they play). For them particularly it’s not just about this game - they’ll want as many of our players crocked for the run-in as possible and this is their big chance to effect that.
