Said from the start Tonda was behind it all and was laughed out of town on here. As was the suggestion when I said we could be thrown out.

 

For what it’s worth I think the club are delaying making a statement because Tonda will be sacked this morning. They want to be seen to do the “right thing” before making a comment publicly

 

whether the appeal is successful is another question altogether but if it is it definitely won’t be Tonda leading us out at Wembley. I actually think legally we have a good chance of getting it over turned, the punishment is nonsense, that being said whether we have the intelligence and legal muscle to do it is something else entirely

If we were given 2 points for Oxford (which must have taken place after 3pm on 23rd December, or even on Christmas Eve) and the same sanction applied for Ipswich, then I genuinely struggle to understand how being removed from the play-off places can somehow be considered equivalent to just a 2-point punishment. In my view, that is nowhere near proportionate to the actual sporting impact and consequences involved.

 

I’m absolutely disgusted and deeply disappointed with the club for allowing the situation to get to this stage, but despite that, if there is still any opportunity for the team to take to the pitch on Saturday and fight for the result ourselves, then we have to take it. At this point it’s a classic case of cutting off your nose to spite your face whatever frustrations exist, the priority now has to be backing the players and trying to win the game if that opportunity presents itself.

Hope this is true. Probably won't make much difference in the short term but would be good to blow the whole lid off if it is widespread.

I'd just like to go more than one season without the club having to build a new 'project'.

We're going to need a complete clear out on the sporting side... again.

How are we supposed to build anything with the level of stability the club has had since the arrival of SR. Bordering on Watford levels of nonsense.

Is this our master plan ffs! Ok this may not be true, but yeah we are in the shit let’s take others with us. Do you think we spy with others and share info. What would be nice is to find dirt on Boro. But I suppose Gibson does not go around running his mouth off?

If we have good evidence of that we say the practice was widespread, the EFL knew or ought to have known about it , failed to issue warnings and the punishment is clearly draconian/disproportionate where others have not been sanctioned at all

How can Leeds 200K get escalated to what we have been puniished with? The new rule gave no indication of the severity of the punishment to be meted out. The club were utterly stupid and we are where we are. I cannot see us being reinstated, and how could we sing our hearts out for Tonda etc, the players also must have lost their respect.

Random man on forum says the intricacies that go into a legal decision in a major sporting competition are nonsense and the only thing stopping those being changed is whether the highly qualified people hired to look at it is as intelligent as him is an incredible post btw. Especially in a smug post about right he is. Has the JWP deal be done yet btw?

Interesting official update from EFL who confirm that Saturday's Championship play-off final will kick-off at 3.30pm if it's Hull vs Middlesbrough, but 4.30pm if the ongoing appeal process results in Hull vs Saints.

I like your optimism but there's no chance of us being reinstated.  Not a hope in hell, sorry to say.  Best we will get is a reducton of the 4 points next season which is why I think they threw that in.

Saturday's Sky Bet Championship Play-Off Final between Hull City and Middlesbrough will kick-off at 15:30.

Should the outcome of the ongoing appeal process result in the Final being contested by Hull City and Southampton, the kick-off time for the fixture will remain at 16:30.

He and Spors (plus anyone else involved) should be sacked regardless of if we are in play off final or not.

He and Spors will go onto other clubs in Europe and players will move on, leaving the fans to deal with their actions.

Have the EFL rushed this on purpose, knowing we'd win the appeal? They'd then be able to come out against us strongly for putting the fixture – and wider game – into disrepute.

So far my morning play list has included I'm only happy when it rains by garbage...aptly pouring misery on me, and let down by radiohead... this club is a walking turd fest that has left me with no enthusiasm to face the coming weeks of repercussions and finger wagging...think I need to check out of this place and the Internet in general for a while....
