Good result.

Sense of natural justice being restored.

McBurnie is an arsehole, but did the business today, thankfully.
Shame we hadn’t signed him - free transfer-rather than Downes at the start of the season.

So after all that scheming and entrapment what do boro get?

no shots at goal (and no trains home to the chemical soup that is Boro)

plus they have to compete with us for promotion next season, rather than Hull.

nice one Gibbo

Unless he's got a dossier of further misdemeanors against us that he was keeping up his sleeve in case they lost today....? 🫣 #plottwist

I think it’s impossible, they’d have to get promoted and as we’ve seen this season they bottled it 3 times.

I've avoided this site since Wednesday. Just saw the result and cheered. I feel so much better now and fuck you boro. Let's go again next year and finish above these absolute wankers.

Happy Hour indeed.

But not for Middlesbrough who will be singing along to the old Goodies song “ Do, do, do the Funky Gibbo …”

I do have a genuine concern about that... Wouldn't put it past him to have kept back some other spying examples from his whistleblower to handover to the EFL if they didn't get promoted....

Surely it would be for the individual clubs to make those complaints. I think if they had that evidence they would have provided it already.

What purpose would that serve ?
Other than spite.
And no benefit to them whatsoever

I think you've answered you're own question there... ;)

Also, if we got more point deductions as a result then it would benefit them...

Did the EFL and/or the panel see all of the WhatsApp messages, or just the ones that Middlesbrough chose to submit to them...?

His team lost, not once but twice. They were not good enough to go up. He must accept that and move on. Just as we will.

More incompetence.

Governance, compliance and risk seriously needs be looked at across the board.

So unprofessional.

They probably do have confidentiality agreements. Hard to enforce against legitimate whistleblowers though. And what are you going to do anyway, sue some penniless intern?

This season of "The Spygate Saga" has ended quite well.

The plot twists, the nastiness, the cunning, the idiocy, the drama, and the fact that, despite the hype and Hollywood special effects, the dragons were eventually irrelevant: Better than the Game of Thrones finale, at least.

The local Boro reporter was shown on Sky Sports on Wembley Way earlier and was saying 'Let's see what evidence comes to light... I can't say much more at this stage' - makes me think Gibson held something back for if we weren't chucked out, which he might now feed out to his press pals in the north east to put a fuck into a promotional rival for next season

I think they'll be quite surprised, the momentum of media love has swung today. The majority of fans feel justice has been served, and Boro have not come out of this very well at all.

If they have another attempt at sour grapes and crying, I don't think you'll get the pile on that was prevalent before.

And by the way, that reporter needs to be investigated.

As I posted elsewhere, we have been known by other clubs to be cheating for much of the season. Evidence and willingness to go down that road has kept it under wraps from the public.

Oh no, I can see it now Gibson will sue us as Eckhart disclosed to Hull that Middlesbrough cannot hit the target and run out of steam after 75 minutes 😁

I complained to the BBC about the Teeside radio coverage after our home leg and got the following reply today

Thank you for sharing with us your concerns about BBC Tees Sport: Post-match broadcast on 12 May.

While we recognise emotions were running high following a dramatic and controversial end to the play-off semi-final, we also expect all of our output to meet the BBC’s editorial standards.

Supporter reaction and fans' opinions are, of course, an important part of sports coverage and it is entirely legitimate to reflect the strength of feeling around major sporting moments. However, on this occasion part of the discussion went beyond what we considered editorially appropriate. We are sorry for that.

We have therefore edited the programme on BBC Sounds to remove the section concerned.

We have also spoken to the team involved to remind them of the need to ensure that both presenter analysis and contributions from fans and pundits remains within the BBC’s editorial standards at all times.

Doesn’t matter in the scheme of things but I like the thought of Dana Molt not only losing today but  having one of those cheating Saints fans stir it up for her with her bosses.

Good on you! Great work.

She should be held accountable for her behaviour and it does matter in the public realm and public purse. She’s not there to be a drunken idiot in the pub with her mates, meant to be a professional.

We need to get our own PR department like they’ve got

I remember seeing a tweet from him where he admitted as much and then deleted it. He knows quite a few analysts as I am pretty sure that's what he used to do (now writes a blog on tactics/analysis for himself)

He's been pretty clued up on what's going on with this saga right back to the day that Salt was caught out at Rockliffe so he does seem to have some sound info

For balance, he has also got some stuff wrong (said there were up to 6 other games/clubs involved in the first hearing, when it just turned out to be Oxford and Ipswich) and seems to be an interesting character... but definitely has known what's going on ahead of things becoming common knowledge

That bit is true, was following his feed early on, and he did share some info before it was confirmed (and deleted it)

As for other clubs, there are. Just proof is not (yet) available.

Lets be honest, if anyone genuinely thinks that we spied on Oxford in Dec then no one else until end April, they would be insane

Don’t really care as long as there’s not more points deducted

Hopefully we can move past it just with -4 as clearly the EFL have lost their fucking minds and think spying is the worse crime in history

If it is proven we have done this in other league games, it will obviously be -3 (or -2) for every instance.

As said earlier, we have been profilic for a large part of the season with it. Just depends if other clubs have concrete proof and want to go there.
