Rak-Sakyi's £4m deal to Charlton fell through earlier in the summer. I wouldn't be opposed to selling Edozie for £4m and using the money to bring him in.

So we could get rid of Edozie for £4m and sign March on a free.

But the club might keep Edozie, who's out of contract soon, instead.

Selling THB and replacing him with a loan player who has played a total of 11 first team games.

This isn't really the Spors masterclass I was hoping for.  To be honest, it's fucking shite.

Solly March is crap, hasn’t hit double figures for appearances for four years, and about 30% of his entire career goals and assists came in one season under Graham Potter.

That's sensible business getting in Abbott on loan, happy with that 👏 

Can cover a few postions, premier league experience what's not to like? 

I think we need to be realistic we jave scouted players who are playing Champ league footy and other big clubs are sniffing around, Why the fuck would they drop down to the championship 😅

It’s purely vibes and if Solly March can give better vibes than some talented kid with his career ahead of him then so be it!

Jack should make this point later in the year, but before January, when the vocal minority reserve the right to forget the vibes they wanted and instead judge based on results again.

Yep, top of my wishlist for the summer was to sell one of the best defenders in the division and replace with a kid who's played 13 games of adult football.  Guaranteed success.
As for the second part - surely the question should be directed at Spors - why the fuck are you scouting and prioritising players that you're not likely to be able to sign?

Not opposed to the Forest lad joining, it’s a bit underwhelming but I’d rather take him (hopefully option to buy), Forest fan reviews seem to be decent, and still very young.

Archer and Downs will be confirmed to have left permanently and on loan.

Ramsdale is the eye opener - that could be a late move abroad after our window shuts.

By comparison Sam Edozie has started 2 league games in 2 years. 
Granted, I thought March may have played more but he was half useful for Brighton in the Prem a few seasons ago, not bad on a free, with limited time left to find a replacement.

Surely if Archer and Downs are out the door enough space and wages have been freed up for another forward. Ideally one who can hold the ball up as well as Larin but better than Moamba.

What are you talking about?

March is a winger, and we can get him for nothing whilst selling Edozie for £4m.  Nothing to do with signing a CB.

Assuming saints don't spend any significant amounts of money they've bought a heck of a a lot in. If you add the Armstrong fee as well from January that hsould allow us to strengthen in January if we are anywhere near the top of the table.

That would be a huge risk not to bring in another striker on loan considering one left already (Stewart), one is leaving on loan albeit unselectable (DD) from a wages perspective and Alfie seems confident Archer out, probably on loan.

I don’t get the obsession with Solly March. Feels like all the worst elements of “bring back Wayne Bridge/Lallana/Romeu/Walcott” etc but for a player who never played for us in the first place so not even an emotional pull. He’s played a handful of games in the last three seasons and clearly crocked for huge parts of that.

Feels like a weird nostalgia to just say we finally sign someone we’ve been linked with loads of times. Feels pointless.

Assuming they feel Dobbin can play there.

So our forwards would be Larin, Dobbin, Mubama

Dobbin isn’t a striker, or a winger. Seems to have been a #10 for PNE so more rotation for Finn Azaz. Would be stupid to leave the club that short up front with DD gone as well, Stewart already gone and Archer very likely but the club has history eg Fonte and January which cost us a major trophy.

Come on, be realistic. Sterling is going to prison, and Zaha would never happen with JWP back.

Add to that we have also loaned out BBD and Oyekunle.

Losing 5 striker options off the books and relying on Larin staying fit and an inexperienced Mubama is suicidal IMO. Surely there must be another one incoming?

At least one short. Loaning the lad to Leyton Orient seems daft in that context unless he really isn’t up to the Champ if they’re so skint so they can’t even loan a PL fringe striker in.

As we saw on Saturday, Wood can come in and play against the physical teams like Millwall if needed.

Whether this loan is what we need I guess time will tell. Forest fans think he can do a job for us.

We've bought players in at a higher level with zero first-team games and they have excelled (Lavia, Livramento), so hopefully it's more of an impact like them than a dud.

With no other options coming in other than Abbot, and Edozie and Archer possibly off, we are far too light going forward. Scienza is always likely to get smashed and Dobbin looks a work in progress. 
I also feel we could use the loan market a lot better than we are doing currently. Under Martin we had plenty of useful loans, and last January they saved our season with Peretz and Larin. 
A Scienza injury away from being left massively short for me.

You’d have to say very strange having shifted so many in that area of the squad to not being able to bring in a loan PL fringe striker. I don’t think it is serious financial trouble though, I think it’s expectation setting after yesterday.

I think Nelson would be a possibility and might actually be alright. The rest are either past it, unrealistic or both.

Sterling would a risk of a Peter Osgood-type accident on the M3, or worse, to training every day. Assuming he isn’t banned/incarcerated.
