That's the thing. UEFA needs to get together with South America and force FIFA's hand. While it's hard to argue against inclusivity and making the world cup open to everyone, Infantino has gone too far selling the WC to the nearest bidder/friends. And as for feeling a migrant worker, feeling Arab, feeling gay, I say nothing.

It's a shame Italy weren't at the World Cup. They are one of the best 32 teams in the world. As a kid, the World Cup was for me the pinnacle of football until we didn't qualify in '74 & '78, and now I just watch it. For me, us not qualifying was when I turned to be more interested in my club team than country. Another mistake!

I’d imagine all the African teams will sign up to it as they love a bit of dirty corruption money. Brazil aren’t exactly squeaky clean either so wouldn’t be surprised if they signed up now the big European players are out of their way for a run at winning the cup.

If FIFA do try and push on UEFA should consider kick starting a new world footballing organisation.

Good on them. I hope they stick to it even if the idea is abandoned, unless they insist on that Infantino wanker losing his job as a condition of returning. If they had Euros every 2 years in lieu of World Cup/Euros on 4 year cycle I could live with it.

The women’s 2027 World Cup in Brazil is the next FIFA tournament which will be boycotted my UEFA if the idea isn’t abandoned.

I was at Wembley in 2012 for the Women's Olympic Final between Japan and the USA when he was booed by 90,000 fans when he appeared on pitch for the award ceremony.

The 41 nations of CONCACAF officially rejected FIFA's plan to sell a stake in the World Cup to private investors. While they stopped short of a boycott.

And have a WC with no European teams - could luck with the revenue generation on that. Your investors will all of a sudden be less keen

Perhaps the best way of imagining how a WC would look like without UEFA is to take a look at the old Confederations Cup, and while I think it had a better premise than the Club World Cup which replaced it, did anyone ever actually watch it?
