woodsaint1 Posted yesterday at 07:25 Posted yesterday at 07:25 Whens the Saudi window close? Could see some club there picking him up (and hopefully pays over the odds) 1

saintant Posted yesterday at 09:13 Posted yesterday at 09:13 His wife has just had a baby so don't see him going to Saudi.
HKsaint Posted yesterday at 12:03 Posted yesterday at 12:03 We should have him on the bench to show how strong our team is.

He's mentioned several times that his boyhood hero (and later mentor) was Jussi Jääskeläinen, so had assumed a Bolton fan. Saw this as a good thing when he signed for Saints, as he said that a key reason was the chance to play every week, and emulate JJ's 500 appearences for Bolton. Hope the club can reach an agreement to get him in the first team squad for a promotion push, as him and Peretz in the PL would give us hell of a goalkeeping pairing.
AlexLaw76 Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago He wants to stay and fight for his place... Quote This summer, Aaron Ramsdale made it clear he was keen to stay at Southampton where he's a big character in the dressing room, and challenge for his place. His high wages are understood to be 'manageable' thanks to a relegation clause. Ramsdale had enough of moving around clubs to what would be a fourth new side in three years so he only wanted to do so if the offer was 'too good to refuse' and turned down interest throughout the window, including from clubs in Scotland, Spain and Germany.

I mean Peretz is brilliant and I love him being number 1, but, he does need someone to keep him on his toes and make him keep pushing himself, it won't hurt both of them.
23rdSaint Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago (edited) So: • Peretz is #1 • Ramsdale is backup #1 and training keeper • Long is #2 • Jones is training keeper All semantics, but good to know that Ramsdale will likely play if Peretz doesn't. Edited 4 hours ago by 23rdSaint

CB Fry Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago 2 hours ago, AlexLaw76 said: He wants to stay and fight for his place... More like: he doesn't want to go to Saudi or Turkey or anywhere. We've tried to get him out but we can't. No one else that he could conceivably go to wanted him. Be interesting to see how we play it when the very last window shuts.
IFHP Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago I’m sure we are not playing him as we can’t afford to, he’s probably got some kind of appearance money if he plays - hence he’ll only play if Peretz gets injured. Money is tight now we are in our 2nd season in the championship and his reported basic wage is way over our budget as it is.
