When will the replay be?? Do we think it'll be easy to get tickets?

Don't think they sell out cup matches, so guess could get a home one if necessary.

Got membership but guess there'll be high demand from season ticket holders.

According to Spurs website replay Feb 5th

If Spurs set prices in line with ours at £10, IMO we should go for full allocation of 6,000 although we are entitled to 9k

Nice thought but Levy is known to be a bit frugal. Even if it were again only season tickets holders at a tenner almost the entire ground would likely still be sold out to ST holders, I think they've got over 40,000 on season tickets, so missing out on a bumper payday. Unless both clubs agreed before hand, can't see them being much under £25.

 It's glandular fever

If it's this (and I don't know it is) then I can believe - my daughter had it and literally wiped her out for nearly 2 months. That's not allowing for gaining match fitness for a professional footballer.

I just don't get the whole Danso situation. Why did we loan him, at £3.5M if some of the media quotes are to be believed, only to try him out of position when we have struggled at CB? If he needs settling in and match fitness, then why not play him in the under 23's (or whatever they are known as now). We play him at LB or RB once in a while where he has struggled but continue to do so when short of fit players, but not at CB - why? What is the point? Is he on a play at CB per game bonus over and above the said £3.5M?

He is raw and needs a few games to prove himself, but seems he will not get that.

I think the short answer is the emergence of Stephens. I think the club thought Danso could be a starter considering all the unknowns coming into the season at CB. Obviously, from what he is showing in training, he is not.

Secondly, the CB position isn’t rotated all that much for Cup games like midfielders or LB/RB. So, his opportunities to play his natural position is far and few between.

In retrospect, it appears he is not the position player that we though we desperately needed. It happens. He is on loan and won’t be signed. The club was smart not to do a permanent signing. I still would love a 25£ nailed on starting CB signing this summer, but Danso was never that guy not was expected to be.

a week and a half till the next game. Plenty of time

But it makes a mockery of the mid season break, the idea is to give players a complete break, i.e. 2 weeks between competitive games. I don't actually think it's necessary but if you are going to have this break then you should stick to it.

The idea of the club and RH is to develop young players and, after some years, sell them for much money. Therefore, a complete CB of 26 or 28 years would make sense in another philosophy. Danso is there for the future. That was the idea I think. But RH changed his mind a bit - the struggling season start did not allow him to give match-time to youngsters. (Even top-talented Djenepo comes from the bench ...)

Danso, for the future......... so signed on loan.

Lets get real, he was the best we could do.....

I don't know the real considerations then, and the financial situation of the club. Danso played in German Bundesliga always as a CB as far as I remember, as well as in the Austrian national team (never as a RB). Sometimes, in U23, he was used as a defensive midfielder. There were 4 CBs in the summer already. Maybe RH was not sure of their quality for his systems. Or maybe in summer he wanted to stick to 3 CBs on the pitch, then it would have made sense to have a 5th one for rotation.

Image Stephans, Yoshida, Bednarek or Vestergaard were used as RBs and/or LBs. Had they been so much better than Danso?

Watching the extended highlights and two things struck me.

One...Danso was absolutely terrible. He may be good at CB, but I'm starting to think we'll never find out. He is not a fullback, that's for sure.

Two...as always, when Redmond plays on the right he creates SO much more. If Armstrong is out I really hope we stick Redmond on the right and bring Boufal or Djenepo in on the left. It's so frustrating that Redmond has played so little on the right in his time here as on the handful of occasions he has, he's always looked so much better.

Interesting that a lot of people don't seem to understand the huge technical differences between playing CB and full back.

I think Danso should be cut a bit of slack here. Not only was he playing out of position but he was up against a world class player who often makes specialist right backs look bang average.

I'm not saying he turned in a great performance but there's some pretty ridiculous comments flying around. Unfortunately for him he's not really going to get much opportunity to play CB, but it's quite unfair to form an opinion on his overall qualities based solely on him playing out of position.

This

Spurs obviously highlighted Danso & targeted Son to play against him - the amount of times, especially first half, he was exposed 1 on 1 with no cover!

The touble is he cant use his left foot at all, so his cutting in isn't as effective in creating a shooting chance for himself, which is where many of his goals have come from when on the left.

His crossing with his right foot has been far better than his shooting with his right foot.
