View From The Top Posted 4 July, 2012 Share Posted 4 July, 2012 Why would 'gaining an unfair advantage' come into play now, when it didn't stop them in gaining promotion, winning the FA cup then overspending in the championship to try and get back up? In each season they did this, rival clubs that didn't run up debts they never planned to pay back were at an unfair advantage. Other clubs would have liked Yakubu in the championship, others would have liked Berger, Diarra, Crouch, Defoe and countless others we've forgotten played for pfc because they were only there a few months for some cash. They've had unfair advantage for 8 years now, and used it to gain 1 FA cup, no infrastructure, no playing assets, no money, no stadium, a place in League 1 and the worst reputationin English football. The integrity of the SPL clubs appears to be intact, as it's they who have voted against letting Rangers Newco into the league. However, the SPL themselves - in tandem with the SFA - are ****ting themselves because (somehow) the various commercial and broadcasting deals they have seem to stipulate that both of the Old Firm clubs need to be present, otherwise they have get-out clauses. As a result, Neil Doncaster (who you may remember was CEO at Norwich when they were financially in the **** at the same time as we went into admin - he also had a place on the FL board - and was key in getting the FL to ignore their own rules and deduct us 10 points) is trying to get them into Division One rather than starting right at the bottom. He's claiming it "would be unfair on the 41 innocent clubs" for Rangers to be put in Division 3, presumably because the clubs will lose out financially as a result of these contracts being cancelled. However, you'd like to think each of them had actually thought this through when they voted against Rangers keeping their place in the SPL in the first place... This is the level of punishment they should still be getting... I still think folk are missing one huge, key, massive point in that they have to shift 8 odd players BEFORE they bring anyone in. No way, i feel liquidation is the only punishment,£200,000,000 debt "gone" if any football club gets away with this type of p*ss taking they should be dragged across hot coals. Look at the people they owe money too. It is a scandle they are still here. Sell the ground to Tescos and pay the charities owed money is the minimum that should happen. Then let the fans start again lower down the leagues with a new club. Outside of football people would be going to jail for these amounts of money owed. Granted minus 30 points would be funny,watching their pointless season unfold until relagation. God bless liquidation........................again. They've been on a £5k/week cap since admin, so they could scrape by on the £200k/month nPC subsidy, with a bit of help from cash generated by player sales. They are now down to a £60k/month L1 subsidy. I don't know if it's been mentioned on here before but for some reason I have a sneaky suspicion that the numbers don't seem to add up. That includes money owed as well as compensation for the remainder of his contract, now around £10,000-a-week after a relegation clause was triggered. As in - you are a Sales Manager - you get a new job with a competitor. It is a VP role even if the salary is down on what you would expect but up a bit on your old job. As a career move you do NOT then go and walk inside one year and take a Sales Manager job at another competitor. Forget the money, your CV is screwed for life. THAT is why he is still there. He is also in a no lose position at PFC.
