Rasiak signs for Reading - OS

A real statement of intent by Reading there.

Don't blame him for wanting to leave after being loaned out last year when we actually needed him. I think his best days have gone but no doubt I will be proven wrong now. He did gave us some good memories though.

Lets replace him with a decent league one striker now who wants to play for us and might find it a great place to get noticed as a player and become a big name not a big time **** like rasiak.

Thanks for the goals rasiak the derby away one comes to mind was a great moment for the club wish you showed that passion this season and maybe we would be closer to 0 points.

Reading are my tip for CCC underachievers of the season this season. They have sold many of their good players this summer including Stephen Hunt, and Kevin Doyle is no longer there either. The team that got them promoted has largely been torn apart.

Rasiak should do well for them if he can get goals, and we know he can, but I still don't think they'll be in the play-offs this season. Brendon Rodgers is a good young manager, but this is a season of transistion for them.

It's a shame to see him go. He is a natural goalscorer, and if League status didn't matter to him and he was happy to stay, he would have been a good asset for us to keep. That said, we're in dire need of a pacy striker, and hopefully with the wages this frees up, we can bring one in.

What with Saga? With him and Rasa desperately battling for a spot in the World Cup, it seems now like Rasa has the upper hand with playing in the higher league. I still predict Saga will go by deadline day, but if we do keep him, I hope he plays his nuts off, even if it is just to get him noticed for his International team.

I'm sure Pardew has his targets, but it worried me the other day when he said he was looking at a couple more recruits. I would personally think we need about six now - another CB, a RB (even a loan, to fill in while Murty is out), a RM, a LM (of Pardew isn't going to use Holmes), and one or even two Strikers.

I don't think he gave it all after his first season with us but I don't think we treated him very well either

one led to the other in my opinion

signing Stern John - a similar but less talented player - and sending Rasiak out on loan wasn't a good idea

I still have no real idea why we signed Stern and Euell when we had Rasiak and Saga - and were in financial problems!

we'd have been a lot better off keeping Best and Blackstock on long term contracts

at times I think the club tried to force him out in an attempt to reduce the wage bill because of his high wages

if that was the case we never should have signed him in the first place or let him go on a free when we couldn't afford him

it was the same with Saga - neither felt wanted by the club as well as being worried about their places in the Polish national team

Best move for him and the club. He hasn't been part of things here for the last two seasons, hence the loans out, because there has always been adequate competition, such as Stern and DMG, just as there is now. Had he stayed he was probably third choice at best and not a good fit with Lambert. His place in the squad can be filled by someone the team has more need of.

"Undisclosed fee". In other words - for next to nothing. Not that I mind. If he (or anyone else) doesn't want the honour to pull on the red & white stripes - then f@ck off.

I think it ended up to be more about having him off the wage bill than having the transfer money. He didn't want to play for us, so we couldn't have held on for more money, or we'd have had a whinging pole sitting in the reserves all season, earning a fortune.

The one memory that stands out is his last min goal against Derby in the PF Semi. His record for us was something like 30 in 79? which isn't too shabby tbh. That's not including the times he was inexplicably dropped for no reason and consequently stopped scoring.

He was treated abysmally by us last season, so were all of the experienced players tbf - so it's no surprise he wants to go.

If you add up all we have received for him in loan fee's and this fee, im sure it comes close to the £2m outlay we paid in the first place. - so we haven't done too badly.

Now for a pacy forward...

Thanks for the goals Rasiak - some great ones in there too. I'll never forget that goal against Derby away in the 2nd leg. I have never celebrated a Saints goal so hard. Happy happy memories. :)

It's a shame he didn't want to play in League 1 because he would have been leathal, but if he has ambitions to play for Poland in the World Cup then you can understand his desire to move.

He really has been treated poorly by us to be fair. Dropping him half way through a season in which he was scoring bag fulls, then loaning him out to cut costs must have been frustrating but he never whinged or moaned, so can't really understand the bitter responses from some of our fans.

Good luck to him.

Shame to see him go but he's not had his heart in it for ages being convinced that we are toooooo lowly for him......And sadly he's right :-(

Big lump off the wage bill ...lets hope AP spends the savings wisely

And let's also hope we keep Saga looking at how well he worked with Lambert on Saturday (I'll brace myself for the usual outrage on that suggestion :-) )

now we have no decent songs left to sing what with rasiak and bwp gone ;-)

good luck at Reading

we haven't had many for a while it seems to me! if Saga goes as well we will be in real trouble o the song front!

that new Rickie Lambert song is terrible for a start!

There is a good chance he could be in League One next season with Reading imo.

Was talking to my mate about this today, they look in serious trouble, think they made a mistake jumping in for rodgers IMO. I think reading have had their time though, i said to him at the end of last season that they are probably looking at mid table obscurity and perhaps worse, then probably get steadily worse, wasn't so long ago they were in league 1 and they have hardly a big fanbase.

Still, as for Rasiak, he will score goals, we all know this, but as i said to my mate, he is just a poacher, don't expect him to work hard. He may score goals if they are playing well, if not, they won't. IMO that is
