Paul Wotton leaves club

Seemed like a genuine bloke and was committed.

Used to buy him in Football Manager for DC/DM cover. Terrible passing, used to get sent off once or twice a season, but very determined! FM gets it right again!

Good luck to him, he always seemed like a top bloke and an excellent role model. Never gave up trying even when he wasn't playing that well, which to be honnest was the majority of his career. A small part of me is glad though, it's another one of Lowe's relics we've managed to offload. If we could only get rid of Pulis and Forecast.

My favourite memories of Paul Wotton are from last season at Northampton away where two fans stood right behind me got in a punch up after an argument over whether he should be in the team or not. Also Brentford away last season with the non stop chanting of "Paul Wotton football genius".

Anyone that was at Ashton Gate a few seasons back, seeing us get our arses kicked as was so often the case, will testify that he did everything humanly possible to win the ball in that gam. He charged around like hsi life depended on it making tackles ranging from kung fu waist high kicks right through to head first dives at peoples feet. Up until then I had slated him, pretty much from his first touch, but from then on I coud never find the heart to rip him to shreads on here as I had done so many times before. He offered total committment whilst many around him were barely breaking sweat. That said, along with Darren Powell, he was without doubt one of the least talented players ever seen in a Saints shirt. I have little doubt he will make a very good coach indeed. I wonder if he heard us at Brentford?

Excellent pro who did his best to make up for any shortcomings in his ability by never giving less than everything.

I won't forget his happiness after the final whistle at the JPT...nice that he got to experience that with us.

Thanks Paul - I wish you well and share the belief that there's a role in management with your name on it

Why can't we mutually terminate his contract aswell :)

unlike with Wotton there is not a suitor willing to pay his wages - so we would end up having to pay his contract up in full. Better for cash flow to pay slowly and surely. Younever know he might get injured and then at least part of his age will be covered by our insurance.

Not our greatest player but I liked his attitude & commitment good luck to him when he played he gave it his all & thats all you can ask.

He did a decent job a few times last season coming on in games we were trying to kill off he got stuck in & worked hard took a lot of unfair stick all in all a decent squad player for Saints

Not true. He was very good at Plymouth.

I would like to thank him for everything he has done for us. Clearly past his best you cannot fault him for his effort for us and while he never achieved anything for us you cannot actually pin any fault on him for our relegation.

I wish him well for the future and I hope he keeps Yeovil up - as it is a good away day but we will be in a higher division anyway - wont we.

Good luck Paul.

Good to see you have another project to get your teeth into.

It's a job he'd give his eye teeth for appparently, if only he could find them again.

Mind you, if he found them, could he be sure they weren't Viafara's?

Great guy, did Plymouth proud, shame he came to us so late in his career, he deserves to end his career in a good way.

One of the worst players I've ever seen in the red and white. He gave 100%, but that's a basic requirement in my eyes. I would give 100%, but shouldn't be seen anywhere near the first team.Poor signing, poor player, sums up why we are in division 3.

Why is it Jermaine Wright gets stick and Wotton gets plaudits for giving 100% , at least Wright passed the ball to a red and white shirt occasionaly.
